I got to use a hand me down 1978 Dodge Maxi-Van with a 360 in it in high school. One time we had 26 people in it to go get pizza.

I had two female passengers in my 914 once. It is amazing what the driver can manage to brush against when shifting gears with a sweet young thing straddling the snifter.

Was in band in HS and didn't care about having my own car because was in the group that a bunch of us rode in a guy's little old Ford Falcon. Always happily rode literally piled in the back seat with the twirlers, oboe, flute, and clarinet players.

Probably why I didn't mind becoming the driver my senior year with the big Ford wagon that would seat 12 and carry all the instruments on the luggage rack.

Morning all. Off to the PCA breakfast. Riding in my wife's Jap car.

Oh well maybe I can fix the 911 this afternoon.

Burp

The breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs and a slab of ham. Oh and the "side" was a couple of pancakes. Whatever the opposite of silver dollar pancakes is called, these are them. There were two plate size pancakes. Just crazy. I did not get a gold star for cleaning up my plate.

That looks good!

I stayed up and watched "The French Connection" last night and then slept until 930 this morning. I haven't done that in a long time.

Nothing special going on today. Wifey is working, daughter has birfday party and the boy is doing something with a toy shark frozen in a block of ice.

Probably going to close the pool tomorrow before the leaves start falling. It's too cold to swim anymore anyway.

The real cold spot is where the salt was on the ice.

Cool.

I just got my rebate check from the insurance company. $927.00 because we are boring and avoid insurance claims.

My 911 and the Elky have agreed value insurance. My 911 cost me 60 cents per day to insure.

My friend has an honors class 17 year old daughter. She pays $350 per freaking month! Of course she has had three insurance payouts and some tickets in the recent 20 months.

I have not had a ticket in over 40 years and only a deer hit insurance claim.

I watched the last 20 laps. Eh, sort of boring.

The pool is officially closed for the winter.

Had a bit of a late lunch today.

Grilled a NY Strip with 3 charcoal briquettes and a few hickory chips in the smoker box, delicious. Had a nice cool salad and some steak fries with it. Still so full I think dinner is a no go tonight.

Wonder how a grilled cheese sandwich would be smoked on the new grill?

Simple solution there. ^^^^

After a while testing components on the 911 I pulled the DME and I will ship it to Steve Wong to be checked out. If he finds any issues I will cheer, if not I will know I have a solid DME and I can eliminate that as the source of the Porsche Poltergeist.

I am also sending off my old fuel pump to be rebuilt. It works ok as is but I took it off back at 135,000 miles when it started showing signs of acting up. I will put it on and have another known good item.

We smoked some venison and sweet potatoes. Best sweet potatoes I have ever had. My wife saw how to do it somewhere. You spritz the tater and cover it in salt to collect the smoke particulates. Both kids ate theirs and they don't like sweet potatoes other than fries. Oh, the venison was good too. Nice thick smoke ring and juicy. Took longer because I had a hard time regulating the temp up where I wanted it. Darn wind was pulling air out of the bottom damper.
