Cheers Peter, ED staff up here were excellent. I'm now relaxing in the quiet serenity of the medical ward. They are fussing over me pretty good as well. Hopefully the angiogram will show up the issue.

Just don't let your wife know you have anything to do with Angie and sending her a gram. That is what a Angie-ogram is right?

Glad it was minor Jeff. But we knew you have the heart and mind of a minor. Never grow up!

Hey its hump day again!

We keep getting weird phone calls from different possible new clients. We like new clients so we always try to find out what they are trying to achieve with the data we provide. One lady kept pressing us on what type of surveying we do. She wanted a boundary survey and we told her we can't do that we are not surveyors but we work with several and can recommend someone in her area. Some guy called up and wanted to know what type of engineering we do. Simple answer, we are not engineers and never claim to be in any way. We work with engineers all the time and provide them the data they use to produce their final project.

It is interesting because recently the surveyors and engineers have really been going after anyone using the word surveying or engineering in their business description. We can provide most of the components of an Alta survey, BUT we provide that to a surveyor and he combines our data with his and then that surveyor signs off on it. We can't and won't even try to call that the survey. It is like they are calling us to get us to say we do those things but we can't anymore than we can call ourselves a doctor.

Ok Jeff and I need a vacation from everything. For me the last few weeks have been the worst.
Wife's cancer diagnosis.
Dislocated knee.
Mom passing.
The mother of all colds.
And now Jeff has a heart attack.

I'd quit but then what would I do?

Hey, Porsche Parade is coming to your back yard. Just hang on until July and then hang out with the Porsche friends you have never met.

Wow.

I have a personalized tag on my 911 and it is rather obscure and not that great of a tag. Way back in December of 2015 the current tag was due to expire and I figured it would be the perfect time to get a new and different tag.

I expected it in a few months at most. My check was cashed on December 15th of 2015 About mid-summer I finally called and asked about it. The paperwork was lost but the canceled check had a code stamped on it. That allowed him to find the check but he needed me to fax the paperwork to him so I did. Fortunately I kept all the paperwork. I called again in December of 2016 a full year after the check was canceled. He said the plate was made and they discovered it has been already been issued. It was sent back and the are awaiting the second choice.

I tried for L8 APEX as a first choice. Now I get CARRERA which will be cool. He said they had mailed it yesterday. The good news is the tag is good for 12 months from date of issue. At least it is not from the date the old one expired or the new tag would come already expired. Only 16 months to get my new tag. Government workers.

It has a real tag that is the valid tag. The vanity tag is just 20 bucks per year extra but it has a separate expiration date. I should get the new one tomorrow, maybe even today.

I always wanted one on the Cobra that was ZOOT. Hobbyist plates can't be customized, but they don't have an expiration either.

The wife wanted me to convert the 911 to collector plates and I said no. If I did then it limits when and where I can drive it.

My "real" tag is $21 per year. The personalized tag is another $20. I have to have a real tag to even keep it on the road. There are antique plates and collector plates but I suspect restrictions on driving. I have no restrictions at all and it is not going to get any cheaper than my current tags.

My only restriction is my insurance. I am limited to 7,000 miles per year. Not much of a restriction. I got close to that last year with a 5.5K road trip but the rest of the year is under 1K of driving.

I am not allowed to drive the Cobra in January unless I buy a $15 permit. I am not fond of driving a RWD car with performance tires and no top in sub zero weather so I was alright with that arrangement.

When I had my mud and snow rated tire on the 911 I drove it in sub zero conditions a few times. It is not much fun because the engine never warms above 120 degrees. Now I have summer performance Michelin tires that flat say, don't even roll the vehicle if it is below freezing.

I think I have had mine out once in really cold weather. Yeah that was not fun at all.

In below zero temps I was nice and warm but the engine just would not warm up. Driving it at 3,000 RPM rev limit is boring. I think it is the first time I ever ran with the heater on high for more than a few minutes.

It was something like 118 when I went through Needles, CA. The heat index in Savannah, GA was the worst ever. One day the heat index was over 130. At least in Needles all the moisture is baked out so humidity was low. Savannah was like walking into a steam bath when you open the door. Just brutal. When I pulled into the parking lot at Roebling Road I had the AC cranked up to fridge mode. When I got out my glasses fogged up completely and the entire car was covered in condensation like a bottle just pulled from the refrigerator.

The difference is you all have an enclosed car. I have no top or side windows in the Cobra. I could keep the inside of the windshield warmer, that is about it.
