Rexy's owners had a baby. that meant she couldn't be the baby anymore. and she is acting all *****y about it.
so i've been called. gonna take cowboy up to meet her next week. if they get along she'll be coming home with us. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1355178464.jpg |
Is that Cowboy or Rexy?
Big storm here tonight - huge lightning strike just outside the house - power went out and doggies bolted to the bathroom with Winkipop hiding under the sink and Billabong sitting on the bath mat right next to her. All systems back to normal now. Our city utilities crew are awesome - the bucket truck was here in less than 1/2 hour and power restored shortly afterwards. I never even call 'em - they just show up. :) |
I'm teleworking today. I look out the window and I see this. The ONE opportunity my cattle dog would have to test out his skills and he's asleep in the crate because the dogs were bugging me by wrestling.

I was at the trainer today with Lex and he said cattle dogs are the only breed they train at 12 weeks. He said that at 6 weeks, they take them a 1/2 mile from home and the ones that find their way back are the ones they train for cattle work. I have no idea if it's true or not. |
Don't know how much exposure these dogs are getting overseas but its a brilliant idea. They've been on the kiwi talkshows the last few weeks.

Well, there is a young cowboy he lives on the range
His horse and his cattle are his only companions He works in the saddle and he sleeps in the canyons Just waiting for Summer, his pastures to change And as the moon rises he sits by his fire Thinking about women and glasses of beer And closing his eyes as the dogies retire He sings out a song which is soft but it's clear As if maybe someone could hear Goodnight you moonlight ladies Rockabye sweet baby James Deep greens and blues are the colours I choose Won't you let me go down in my dreams And rockabye sweet baby James http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...74829648_n.jpg |

Help Find The Scumbag Who Stole This Land Cruiser With A Dog Inside Patrick George Okay, Jalops. Time to put your crime-fighting hats on once again. This time it's not just a car owner who needs our help, but a pup named Lexy. Over at the Pirate 4x4 forums, user heavytic reported that on Thursday night, his 1985 FJ60 Land Cruiser was stolen from a South Carolina Wal-Mart parking lot. That would suck enough for anyone, but the worst part by far is that his 6-month-old German short-haired pointer Lexy was in the truck when it got stolen, and now she's gone too. Needless to say, the OP is a wreck. He says he's filed a police report and notified his local news stations, but as of Saturday neither Lexy nor the Land Cruiser have been recovered. I'm a dog owner myself and I can't even imagine how awful this must be. My heart goes out to you, man. Be on the lookout for this car, folks, and hopefully this pooch will get reunited with her person sooner rather than later. And that the thief will get what's coming to him. Thanks for the tips everyone! Help Find The Scumbag Who Stole This Land Cruiser With A Dog Inside |

I've left my girls in the truck a few times when weather was not an issue and with windows down a few inches and I can guarantee if anyone tried to come inside the barking alone would scare them off. They don't suffer intruders! |

here she is curled up on the office couch. so far have learned that she likes to chase ravens and is scared of the snow blower. minor personality conflicts with cowboy. am working on that.

Winkipop just cracked open 2 Pistachios and ate the nuts inside - leaving the shells.
I thought only my Cockatoo was that smart! |
