Audi is German for "don't own off warrantee".
These cars are nice when they are new but rival Jaguars of the 80's in terms of falling apart and crazy expensive to fix. They depreciate like crazy which is reflective of the previous statement. That being said, I'd consider a Lamborghini engined S6 when they get cheap enough which should be any day now...

Here is an S6 that was local:
New 2013 Audi S6 AUTO For Sale | Washington PA Yes that would be my first choice, not my wifes though. You hit upon one of the problems I am encountering switch brands, Audi's depreciated much more quicker then BMW. That is why their leases can't even compare to BMW. The dealer I spoke to that gave me the quote even stated they have poorer leases then BMW. If I was going to lease, I would go back to BMW. I could do a loaded 335 for figures close to what Eric mentioned. |

Interesting thread, thanks for all the info.
I dont understand your comment about options. After driving the car did you think the current dif was lacking? If you liked it buy it, why worry with what a magazine trumps as a must have option? |

Why not drop back a few years and get one of the Lambo V10 engined S6 or S8s? You could pick one up for much less money than new. An RS4 would also be tempting and significantly more car than the S4 that you drove.
If you look beyond BMW or Audi, a C63 or E63 would easily fall into your price range. A CTS-V would also be very appealing, but you don't seem to like those. Regarding the 335i, make sure you do some reading on the high pressure fuel pump failures. I don't know if they resolved the issues when they went to the single turbo configuration, but I know it was a big problem on the old twin turbos. A local BMW CCA member was stranded by his purchased new 335i four times in approximately 20,000 miles, at which point he traded it in for an X3.

True. Just woundn't mind trying one side by side. I tend to get my cars with as much performance oriented option as possible. That being said, I haven't seen many that have this option.

My BMW contact who I have used since owning them came back with this for me.
With $2,500 due at signing you are at $673 a month for 39 months with 10k miles a year. This is a $57,720 MSRP car ,M sport, cold weather,premium,tech.upgraded sound. It was a car we had in the pipe line when I got the msrp but Paul traded it out to another dealer, can’t remember all the options but it had almost everything in it. You get $2,750 in holiday cash and loyalty money that is in on this deal, we can lock you in on an order before year end to get that savings, if you wait until spring the money goes away. You have to get the order in before year end. Any questions let me know.

Who drives <10k a year?
How do you get that to 20k or at least 15k? Is that possible? The highest lease offers I always see are 12k which is useless for me. Just my road trips eat half that up and then I haven't done any daily driving yet. G |

I put about 3,000 miles on my RX8 in almost one year of driving it daily. I live 3.5 miles from work and our F150 does family car duty. One motivation for getting the S8 was the ability to haul wife + 3 kids around town, we've put 14,000 miles on the F150 in 7 months.
One other car shopping question, have you considered an XFR or XF Supercharged?

I'm usually pretty good with negotiating, but unless I'm doing something wrong they aren't that easy to deal with around here. Perhaps they have others beating down the door to pay full price? The dealer I was at yesterday let me walk for $1500. Offered me another 500 on my trade which wasn't enought for me to overlook the small problems I had with the cars options. If the price was right, I would of been driving it today. Maybe they don't care? I liked the car, but not for the deal that was happening. As far as BMW, if I would show them your figures, they would most likely laugh at me because its not going to happen. I have been looking at a 335 since I spoke to you over the summer and they know I am looking to make a move. I stopped in last week for an event they were having and it was packed. Most likely those that are paying full retail.
I think $57,720 is already with a discount. The retail when optioned out is $61,000 or around there.

A search on the BMW website showed four BMW dealerships in the Pittsburgh area, with two more that don't look too far away. Make a few phone calls. There was an almost $4k difference on nearly identical trucks between the two local Ford dealerships when I bought my F150 this year. I also called dealerships as far as 3 hours away to get their pricing, and came pretty close to flying to visit Eric in MN to buy from a bottom-line pricing dealership.

$4000 off MSRP is still $500 over invoice on a $57,720 MSRP
The rest has nothing to do with the dealer's profit on the sale of the car, although they may be marking up the lease rate. If you can't buy a 3-series for $500 over invoice, you might be worth your time/money to travel to get a better deal. Or get a better deal in writing and give a local dealer the chance to meet their offer. It's not like 3 series are limited production....they'll make all you want
