It was a surprise Christmas gift for his wife, I parked it at her reserved spot at the hospital (she's an OB-GYN) on Christmas Eve. Supposedly tears were shed.......

Not a fan of the color but nice Jeep. Those things are nutty expensive - what did that cost done? Guessing close to $45K? More than my 996 and wife's G37 combined.

Glad to see you're moving inventory Matt. I am hoping your business does well. I am generally skeptical when car enthusiasts test the waters selling what they love. Case in point the MBZ you have been holding, car guys like us can lust over it but I think the market for a late model high mile MBZ is pretty flat. You did say you hoped it took a long time to sell though

Best of luck for the upcoming 2015 my friend.

Matt, we're gonna need more pictures of that AMG. They're awesome cars.

Paul, thanks for the kind words. Considering air cooled prices, I wish I had KEPT that '88 Targa.

Byron, if you get the Escalade you gotta lose the fugly headlights and fake fender vents. They're damn comfy SUVs and pretty decent tow rigs.

David, I've definitely had to temper my enthusiasm to buy cars that I want. I have to be more careful about buying cars that will also sell, and the C63 is pretty much exhibit A. Fantastic car, but a very niche customer market. Fortunately I've done very well with Porsche sports cars, so I'm largely going to specialize in those going forward. This is a low overhead operation so I don't need huge volume.

As for the Jeep, you're pretty close to the total investment. It's a 2013 with 16k, ultimately the Jeep plus modifications and labor were about the same as buying a new bone stock Rubicon. The color is Rock Lobster, in person it is more of a bright lobster red. It tends to wash out in photos. His wife wanted a bright color and loves it.

The C63 sold, finally! One of my all time favorite cars, and one of my worst investments.

Here's a new addition, a really clean 2009 Cayman with 61k.

This is my first 987.2 with the 9A1 engine that does not have an IMS. It also doesn't have direct injection, so there's no risk of carbon build-up like some of the S models are having. After driving this for a bit, I'd put the base 987.2 right up with a 987.1 S model. It feels just as quick (because it nearly is), I really like the cosmetic updates, and a lot of the quick wearing soft-touch crap on the interior is now gone. The 9A1 is a really great motor, very responsive and linear, and noticeably smoother than the previous M97. I also have a 2010 Boxster with 23k and a hard top, so I'm getting plenty of 9A1 exposure.

bummer. The C63s and E63s with performance packages are killer...especially the wagons. Not really feeling the style of the new awd AMG cars . I'd imagine they are rockets but being awd has to steal a fair bit of the sleeper entertainment.

I would absolutely LOVE an E63 wagon for a family car. This suggestion was met with a hearty eye roll from the boss.

Heres's the 2010 Boxster I mentioned:

After a good detail the Ruby Red Metallic paint is simply stunning. Only 23k, 19" Carrera wheels, sport wheel, heated seats, heated wheel, xenons, etc. It also has a color matched hard top, I just removed it because it's supposed to be 70 here for the next few days.

That would sell better in AZ this time of year. And it would look stunning in my drive next to my ruby red escape!

Just get one and have her drive it!! I'm not sure they make one in an ugly color and there seem to be quite a few with the performance package/LSD!! If it's awesome and she doesn't like it, PM me. What could possibly go wrong?

Dad says he'll trade you an ST with 1k boot.

Somehow I don't see that E63 plan working out well for me.....

Sid, your dad hasn't sold his ST yet? With me doing the car thing part time I'll stick to Porsche.

He really hasn't tried. Between the business, and dealing with mom and all the chemo treatments, they just haven't had time to mess with it. Not sure what his plan is now.

Learned your lesson with the C63 about straying from Porsche Ehh?

Just a monster, a freaking monster wrapped in glove soft leather and with all the luxury goodies that I can imagine. I love Mercedes, with 84k on it this car looks like new inside and out with no rattles, and everything works. The seats are glove soft leather yet have no noteworthy wear despite huge front bolsters. The front seats are the best I've had, taking that crown from the Recaros in my D2 S8. Steering is well weighted but a little numb, brakes are OMG huge, ride quality is similar to a Porsche - stiff but not harsh. And the engine, holy God the engine. I think savage is the best way to describe it, but still totally insufficient. Torque is everywhere, punching it around town instantly results in a forceful shove backwards into the heavily bolstered seats, blurred vision, the ESP light going nuts, and what sounds like an A-10 airstrike in your back seat. The sound is like nothing I have ever heard, and it's the stock exhaust system. One of the magazine reviews referred to the sound as "satanic", and it fits. Of the many cars that I've owned, this is the most insane and it makes me giggle like a schoolgirl every time I drive it. If I have to criticize one thing it would be the transmission, in Sport mode it's a really good automatic, but in manual mode it doesn't always comply with your paddle shifter commands, especially downshifting multiple gears quickly. Simply an epic car, and I honestly hope it takes a long time to sell.

Then I remember this "garage" thread.

I do miss the C63. But I have a 540 HP 2012 Roush Stage 3 Hyper (#6 of 25) incoming that should be similarly ridiculous.
