Saying that your NFL football team never cheats and are just misunderstood is like saying your politician is not corrupt.
All politicians are corrupt. All NFL teams try to get away with as much as they can get away with. There is not a single NFL team that try to expoit the rules to their advantage and step over the line once in a while. I will say this about the Pats: they aren't good cheaters -- good cheaters don't get caught as much as the Pats do! -Z

So the Colts and Ravens must be the worst cheaters in the league then?

See that's the interesting part of this. If weather caused 11 of 12 footballs from the Patriots to deflate, was it a fluke that none of the Colts balls did the same?

The more underinflated a ball started out, the higher the internal ball temp, and then more likely the ball to drop in temp. Finally - If the picture I presented above is fairly standard for the NFL game officials filling balls, they are NOT using precision pumps and gauges. There is no way that gauges (car tire pressure gauges!) are better than 0.5 psi in precision, let alone accuracy. They are not checked against a standard. So they could have been pressurized, and then checked with a different gauge and the pressure readings would have been different. This is a distraction.

I bet if the Colts balls were checked (boy did that sound bad), they would have shown similar problems.

If you're a Pats fan then no harm, no foul. If you're not a Pats fan then harm, foul.

You're buying the smear campaign. Get your buttocks off your shoulders.
Again, no... you're not fully understanding the facts here. The 12 balls were removed from play at halftime. The entire second half was played with a different set of balls. They played with more than 12 balls and I don't mean the kicking game balls. Comprende?

Everyone is focusing on Brady but maybe it was a running back?
Patriots Fumble at a Or maybe the Patriots are simply a better coached team.

Sounds like a lot of junk info out there being spread (part of a smear). Here, the Patriots were using the Colts footballs before the half. So still more than 12... D’Qwell Jackson: Patriots Were Using Colts Footballs At End Of First Half | New England Patriots | NESN.com

Sad that the Haterade drinkers out there are making such an issue of this. It's taking away from what really could be an awesome Super Bowl. There's a lot of potential for this one to be great but the haters are so blinded by it they can't see anything else.

From reading more on this, it sounds like once the Patriots lose possession of the ball either by turnover, punt or whatever, the Colts would put one of the twelve they submitted into play.
This would also seem to say that the balls the Colts were using were acceptable for play thereby validating the claim that none of their footballs failed inspection. |
