I have updated the head unit and speakers, more because the old ones were disintegrating. Not top of the line stuff but I am unconvinced that it would be worth it given the somewhat questionable acoustic qualities of the car. But maybe I am wrong and there is a way that doesn't involve plastering the car with Dynamat. :-)

It's not have to be inside , it's have to be two straps that catch it on the sides

Is the one year 83 SC cabriolet supplement manual worth anything?

I'm going to get a good pic of my car to add to the collection.

In the name of weight reduction and aesthetics, the cab top/covers is coming off and the Speedster cover is going on.

Anybody else done that?

I know this is an older post but I wanted to let you know that if you replace all the speakers with component speakers, add a sub woofer in the front trunk and two amps...one for the sub woofer and one for the four main speakers and two tweeters, you can hear it perfectly fine at 80 miles per hour with the top down....

I kept going until I could hear it, all with low cost off the shelf stuff.

Hey JJ, are you doing this? My top is shot so I wouldn't mind install a Speedster cover if it doesn't cost an arm and both legs.;)

Non, juste 2 bras et une jambe :D:):D

Yes, it will be one of my winter project. I think top are over rate so its coming off.

After a lot of Googling I found this; www.Rennspd.Com

They confirm that it will fit any 911 as long as the roof is remove. Only the Speedster roof will fit under it.

I posted my work in progress a page or two back. Here it is more or less finished.
I've removed 140kg weight and fitted Club Sport shocks and late 3.2 ARBs then had all the suspension rebushed. With bare headers and a Dansk 2 in 2 out it sounds amazing with the roof down.

This car is absolutely stunning to me. Kudos!

How I bought it, how it looks now.

Here's my car looking much better than when I bought it. I still have work to do but it's looking much more like what I think a Porsche 911 Cabriolet should look. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405299941.jpg

Love that interior. Lose the tail and swap out the headlights and call it done.

Thank you. It was a long time coming but I got there. I installed new interior and painted last winter. Before paint, I polished the wheels. Now I'm down to buffing out some imperfections in the paint and playing around with my exhaust and tweaking what needs tweaked on the suspension. That all comes this winter. Right now I'm just going to enjoy it.

You can also check Xtreme Mototcars for an aftermarket 911 speedster bubble. A few years ago they sold aftermarket bubbles a little cheaper, but I don't know if they still carry them.

Below is a picture of a standard canvas tonneau cover for a 911 cabriolet that I had restitched to fit my speedster bubble. The tonneau is a cheaper route compared to a complete 911 Speedster top assembly, and also much lighter. :D
