On my 75 911s, Plugged the vacuum retard hose. Set timing at 6000 and adjusted idle.
Runs cooler and seems to rev quicker.

Finally got around to washing off the 990 mile round trip to RR7 - and a little mud from the Saturday rain.

Nice parking clearances. I wish that was what was done in public.

Lots of room between cars provided by the excellent volunteers in the car park. It was nice to be able to fully open the door without worry.

Nice dude!

That's my car with the blue bonnet parked in front of yours.

Do you have a link to the original picture?
Or just the original picture.

Just got the ‘78 SC back from the shop with some upgrades: 24mm / 25mm Eibach adj swaybars, Turbo tie rods, Wevo engine & trans mounts, and the Numeric Racing shifter & linkage.

Car feels perfect right now. All of the sloppiness is gone from the shifter: it’s still a 915 with a notchy 2nd gear, but it’s just so much more precise. And with the sway bars, new tie rods & Conti ECS02’s: I’m super happy with it in the corners. The confidence gap between it and my 993 in the twisties is effectively gone, with the bonus of the SC being about 500 lbs lighter.

North Hollywood Speedometer also just sent my fixed odo/speedo back (turnaround time was < 2 days!) — good start to the fall!

Next up: take off the door cards to install new speakers & fix my driver’s side window, but in no hurry there.

Got My Drivers seat back yesterday from the Trim Shop, had a few spots where stitching separated, so some new more pliable German Leather installed on the bolsters and seat back. looks great.

Also ordered QuickJack 5000TL, looking forward to it for the 911 and our 2 Honda CRV's

I removed the AC bracket about 9 months ago and didn't bother to put a plate in to fill the gap which resulted in noticeable dirt buildup in the area on the engine case. So.....

Careful about your oil line rubbing on the sheet metal.

I installed the Numeric shifter about two months ago in my '81 SC and wow, what a difference. Couldn't recommend it more. Did you go with the 2.5mm spring?

I couldn't get the reverse lockout placed correctly but haven't had a problem due to the stiffer spring.

I went for the “softer” (2mm) spring. I thought I would run with the longer shift knob extension as well, but the short extension ended up being more ergonomic.

Looks great in the car and gives it a bit of that racecar appeal:

That's a screenshot from rennsport reunion 7 day 1 video on YouTube. I don't have the timestamp but can add it in a later edit.

Stay tuned!

I am one of those guys that wants every system to work as designed, or way better in the case of AC.

The other day I noticed my right side fog light was out. I have had a spare bulb in a drawer for many years, and I put it in today. As usual, taking it apart is easy. Replacing the bulb is easy. The tricky part is getting it all together, and aligned to allow the screws to go in and seat the gasket. I finally looked a bit more carefully, and saw there is a notch in the bottom of the glass reflector that a tab goes into from the frame. So tilt, alight the tab, raise it up, and put the screws back in.

Pretty easy project with a lift, but a pain if you are laid out on your back trying to see it all. I love my scissor lift!

I have actually driven in fog, and light misty rain. It is not much more illumination, but it makes a nice difference in oncoming traffic to see me.

Finally got around to rebuilding my 35 year old key fob lights. Two bulbs cost $8 at dealer, and it took 10 minutes. One was missing the crest, which apparently I bought last year at some point, so that was addressed. Good patina, and now at night can see instead of inserting key by jabbing and feel.

Interesting. I tried the shorter extension and preferred the additional leverage provided by the longer one. But agreed, looks great and performs even better!
