Waiting for a few guys to finish engines on set me and my father have sold.
My dad ran them in a bunch of motors before releasing his final revision to the public

I used them for my 3.8 MFI build and made 410 hp at 11 to 1 compression on 93 octane.

MST0118 - the piston pic at the beginning of this tread has inverted dome (channel between intake and exh valve), however pic in your engine post did not… Most likely because cr only 11:1 on 102’s which must not need volume on either side of channel to get cr?

Yes.. his pistons look more conventional to me.. not at all like Fred's design.. But I am still learning as we go...

Yes, my pistons probably had to have more conventional shape because had reduced compression height due to using longer rods and Xtreme heads have less chamber volume. The weight of Fred’s 98mm piston is 430 grams where my 102mm piston was 422. So, maybe these factors caused the shape to be less of a dish? There’s probably less of an advantage with dish design when piston has less dome like mine.

I have a set of 98mm going into a 3.2 to make a 3.4 , comp is 10-1piston.
Measured at 9.78 deck clearance at .040", knight 75 cams , "MaxxEcu Street" Brain
Carrillo rods, should be on the dyno at the end of the month.

I forgot, PMO ITB's

Ian

Looking forward to seeing the results. Have the same set of pistons on our shelf....

Will go a different route ECU/CAM wise, and run on ITB's....

Cheers

Well this engine fired right up this am, 2200 rpm to 2600 for 20 minutes to brake in the cam and rockers .

It is running very well, very crisp, and snappy . A little drive up and back put a huge smile on the drivers face . 315/35/17 tires on the rear .

The dyno run is set for next Monday at 8 am eastern time .

Ok, the short story is , 308 hp at the crank @ 6350 rpm on the Dynojet 248 scale

I will post Dyno graphs and info shortly , the TQ is the amazing set of numbers .

All on 1.5" standard SSI heat exchangers, too small for this displacement of 3.4 ltrs

More to come
Ian
