It looks like the pistons you posted have a TBC on them. Is that TBC or just a different surface finish? Thanks for sharing your extensive knowledge.

Henry, do the manufacturers of these coatings ever provide a thermal conductivity value at the recommended application thickness?
I googled the one posted, found only application instructions. How do you evaluate expected effectiveness without that kind of basic data? Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk |

Henrys post
I wonder too about thermal coatings but am thinking that putting them on the piston crown implies that you would need to adjust cold clearances-perhaps risking them being too tight cold and risking skirt damage,
In other locations though there is certainly merit.

Can I ask how much a set of 3.0’s? I’m building a stock with a 964 cams. Evaluating my budget.

Has anyone who has purchased these pistons, built an engine and run it yet? If so, what was your engine spec and how did it perform?
There must be at least a dozen sets out in the wild by now?

Hi Jeff, yes, really looking forward to hearing from someone like yourself with experience and able to say "yes" or "no" to this design.
