And, then, of course, when transitioning from the friendly collegial atmosphere of the local club race to the brutal crucible of actually trying to make some money, going from cutting each other some slack to elbows and feet in every turn, brake-checking, tire kicking, turn off each other's kill switch on the straights, bump-n-nudge in every corner, lap-after-lap knife fight with everyone willing to cut each other's heart out for a position...what's that have to do with anyghing here? I dunno, I just threw that in as I timewarp back here in the server room to a different, 'analog' era where jetting was done with hard parts, points still had to be occasionally set, plugs got read so engines didn't sieze, and we didn't know sex could kill or that we'd really get 'old' after all...heres a question:
Whats the ONE bike you used to have but now eternally regret getting rid of?

Maybe I should change my .sig to read "Born to be hijacked."

S'ok, there's only so much on-topic mileage one can get out of one newbie thread anyway...

Part of why I want to be able to flatfoot the bike has to do with how possible or impossible it makes the bike to ride for my shorter girlfriend. It's also a heavier bike than I'm used to so it's a confidence thing. Maybe I'm being a ninny, wouldn't be the first time. And I think a centerstand is awfully handy too.

As Roger said long ago, most of the characteristics of the S can be changed to suit the rider, which I count as a good thing. Heck, I could even get me a BCR paint job and stickers galore should I feel like it. Its pretty much all the same. My plan (so far) is to get a pre-duded-up non-BCR S for a good price, and go from there. I'll save $$$ on the stuff I was gonna do anyway, and I can judiciously apply funds to round it out as I see fit. I have my eye on one in particular and have already spoken to the principal involved, so it might be just a matter of another couple of weeks, or even days.

If an S gets, say, Staintune pipes, is there an accompanying chip that it needs to keep if from running too lean? Would a Lazer chip work in that application? Hrmm.

Well, this topic has been beat to death here, too. I think the last consensus was Laser Pipe/Laser Chip combo was the bestest evar. With the Staintune, there a a few other chips avail. Get the bike first, then come back here and use the search function. There is an almost infinite amount of information here.
