LOL that sounds familiar.

A guy I know has come back from Vegas many times and always tells me he won big.
Thousands, tens of thousands sometimes.

My usual response is, "how much did you come home with?"
Most of the time the answer is .... "well I gave most of it back but I was basically playin with their money".
And I smile and let it go

Trader,
Losing 100% of your premium is risky in anyone's book. I meant the market makers who see the future.

At $200 6 months ago, w all of the experts here explaining how it was going to go to nothing, it was a great bet that I regret not taking. I did not believe that Tesla would crater. Now it's stable @ $750. If that's not the biggest winner of a stock in the last year, I'd love to know what is.

Ha, I don't know if I'd call it a "stable" 750....it's been there for a couple of days. 2 weeks ago it was around 500. Sure, with hindsight I'd have bought it - actually I'd have bought deep out of the money call options and made about 10,000% return if I had a crystal ball. My point was just that there is a lot of emotion that drives this stock, rather than facts, data or profits. A lot more than most stocks.

I wonder how many of these Musk-haterz shorted it when it was $200

Probably a lot, it’s the most shorted stock in the market.

How about 8 months?

The above was posted in April of 2019. If you want a good laugh, just read the first couple pages of this thread.

This thread is a good example of how people's political views shape other aspects of their life. the blinders are just astounding. Money doesn't have a political master.

I don't see it.

I made a ton of money when I owned the stock. To date they have basically had zero competition and tax credits to help support them. Moving forward they have no more tax credits and a load of direct competition coming on line. With $2 gas and no charging stations it isn't worth my time to consider one today. Nothing political, purely finacial.

You actually think that political leaning is guiding people's investment?

I would never had bought the stock. Sammy would never had bought it. Half of their investors wouldn't have bought the stock. I sold mine off when I made 5 years of living expenses just before I retired. I didn't need the risk. When I was 30 I was an aggressive investor and would have held longer. But damn, when you double your money is 3 months and a triple it in 6 it would sound to take some profit.

I would buy their car if they offered value to me but it just doesn't work at the current time in my local. Nothing political, purely financial.

Also, I take this as a compliment. Apparently, I don't go looking for something that might not be there.

He misses political discussion, Yet afraid of PARF. Looking for an angle to paint with a wide political brush.

Musk is going to pump it. If the stock hits market cap targets he has about 350 million coming his way.

The last two quarters they made a combined 248 million net income.

How much did they make in the same two quarters the prior year? 450 million.

The next 2 quarters should be easy to beat since they lost 408 million and 702 million. The 702 will be the comparison for their next release. If they can manage a profit for a 3rd straight quarter it will probably be off to the races again.

Rumor this AM that Alphabet wants to buy Tesla for 1500 / share.

Wonder who will run it for them when Elon isn’t around?

I read about that yesterday. What I read didn't say they wanted to buy them only that they had the money and they could add value with their resources.
