BTW... There was a show on Speed Channel tonight called Supercars Exposed. The show wasn't that great, but...

they had cops close down the section of Mul Hwy from Rock Store to the Overlook! All that just to run a P-car, a Ferrari, and a Lotus up and down the hill a few times for comparison/contest.

Now, for those who were there... anyone remember the TV show idea?

Skyline to Coldwater.

How's the Jeep?
The Jeep?
It's BIG, it's BLACK, and it's DIRTY!

Ok ok... the fuel thing is fixed (thanks Radu). It rides rough as hell, I sit way up high, and it's the most fun I've had with a car going slow.

This should be interesting.

Haha. Doesn't anyone work during the day? I must be the only one. I thought this thread was sleeping. How come I dont get the email notifications anymore?

Nice Jeep. I'm looking for a new daily driver also.

I still get notifications... even after it moved to OT.

The Jeep is fun. I highly recommend it.

11:45am, just got back home after running errands all morning.
It's drizzling up here now. Looks like I missed out today.

I'm with you. I've been driving the '69 to put miles on the motor so I'm driving the car that has no rear defrost, crappy front defrost, and leaks a bit. At least I put the wipers back on last night.

But, the 993 is detailed and covered in the garage at home and just couldn't bring it out in the rain. I guess I'm a bit OCD?

Almost took the bike into work today. Then I rationalized that the weather at 6 pm might be different than it was this morning. 2 blocks from home, as it started to drizzle, I was glad I wasn't on 2 wheels.

Have fun on your hike, boys.

The blue bottles are probably from the 1950's. Here's a link with info to the Emerson Drug Company.

It really sucks when PP resizes my resized pics!

Now there is seven days of "I think I have poison oak" syndrome!

Chris, when you clean off the license plate, let me know if you find a year. OK, it should be from 1939. Cool, so far I have found a plate from 1936 and 1939...

I would like to install the twelve plug distributer. Much work has gone into the cylinder heads. The heads are ported and polished 2 mm over maximum, I had to enlarge the throttle bodies to blueprint them to the enlarged ports. They began as 2.4 911S MFI throttle bodies which neck down to 36mm to enter the head intake port on a stock 911S engine. The ports on the Carrera's throttle bodies were bored to 38mm to match each head's enlarged port of the same diameter. The resulting match between the ports of the head and thottle body are seamless. This is one of the tricks that make this 911 go.

Also, it might be interesting to exhange my Carrera 6 cams for RSR Sprint cams, what do you think?
Note: What I'm calling Carrera 6 cams are actually re-ground MFI 911S cams brought to an intermediate between RSR Sprint cams and 911R cams. I remember now being told that RSR Sprint cams wouldn't work well on the street, like we care right?
Chris, the cams are something which can be chosen based on your goals for the car. Is it going to be more of a fun street toy, are you going to take it to the track at all? Is it going to be something just as nuts as possible (always fun to talk about in a magazine article)?

The rain let up and we were able to traverse the hillside.

Within minutes, Radu had found a buried 911. Or at least the top of one.

Here lies a 911 front clip.

There are Porsche parts all over the hillside. Radu is surveying if he can assemble a car out of the pieces.

Dave found a rare old medicine man's trunk filled with colored bottles that once held remedies for all that ails you.
