Very interesting stuff. I have concluded that there are no candidates that accurately represent my priority set, but I really find John Galt - er - Ron Paul interesting. Question is whether there are any deal-killers in the mix.

Matt Davis Who here likes the idea of a unitary primary?

We were talking about Iran possibly attacking another nation. What does that have to do with any suicide bomber? It's goofy to think that we can stop suicide bombers by attacking Iran.
The second biggest suicide attack in the USA was done by some nut from NY using kerosene and fertilizer. So what's your plan to prevent that from happening again...invade NY and shut down the farm supply stores? |

Which attack are you talking about? And for your information, they are now tagging all dry fertilizer.

As for "suicide" pers se...you may be interested to know that the USA has a higher suicide rate than Iran. Go figure. You ask what other terrorist "attack" with-in the USA? Where in the world were you on April 19, 1995? The fact that Americans can so easily overlook such a horrific act is unbelievable. And if we are doing that because it was done by an American it is a sad commentary on us and borderline despicable. |

Naturally it was a "terrorist" attack and I that's what I meant. Thanks for the heads-up. |

It sure makes more sense than letting the two major parties dictate to us...especially when there is virtually not a dime's difference between them in most cases. |

The OKC bombing was planned and excuted from near Ft Riley in Kansas. Why bring up the fact that he was born in NYS? Why would you attack NYS, when he purchased the materials in Kansas?

The point was that we, just like Iran, have our fair share of nut cases. Last edited by WI wide body; 12-26-2007 at 05:42 PM.. |

Also, care to guess how many people have died in Israel in 2007 in those "Hezbollah" attacks you mention? Contrary to what most of the jerks in the US Senate seem to think, it's less than the kids we lose in school shootings...much much less. What exactly has Iran done to the USA over the past two decades? Both Bush's good buddy Vincente Fox and China have done a hell of a lot more damage to our nation over that time span than Iran could ever hope to do. |

I agree with your statement on Fox and China, no doubt. What has Iran done? C'mon, it's all about what's in their plans. We DO track that. |

have some perspective, please ![]() WE overthrew a democratic government, WE refused to extradite a WAR criminal (the shah) when they ASKED. WE initiated this cold war with Iran...don't they deserve to have a solemn nation, free from our meddling? This is one of Ron Paul's best points! we get what we give..and stupid blind people don't get that because they are "scared" by our bully regime that is "protecting" them from "terrorists"...meanwhile they trample our civil rights and conduct secret surveilance on the VERY citizens they "claim" to "protect" and we worry about Iran? somewhere we lost the idea that was the USA... Our founding fathers would be turning over in their graves Last edited by NICKG; 12-27-2007 at 05:26 AM.. |

Tim Russert exposed him on MTP. Here is what Paul does: adds earmarks to spending bills, doesn't vote for the bill (everybody else does), then claims he's against earmarks. Typical Washington nonsense.

Just proof that, when you make a deal with the devil, you're the junior partner. Paul probably has to do this to make some constituents happy and keep his seat. I'd say it's a lot better that he's in Congress than gets replaced by someone who adds far more earmarks AND votes for the spending bills. I don't like it either, but it's the system we have and I'd like there to be a lot more of them like Paul.
