All are welcome here, just bring food and water with you.

If we supply food and water, do you supply the beer and ammo?

Do you have a branch residence in So. Cal by any chance?

Bring food or women. By that point, it will be a barter economy.

My brother lives about 5 miles away. He has over 70,000rds of various popular ammo calibers in his house.

And about 50 guns.

I'm sure he'd be happy to take in any and all volunteers as long as they bring in their food. I'll be one of them.

Sorry, no So. Cal locations, but Nostatic, Leland, Hugh and many others would probably welcome their own militiamen if the SHTF.

Is that "food for women" or "food or women"? Makes a big difference in the quantity of food offered.

many dinos were armor plated -- a wimpy .50 might not be enuff before you are over run

also, these things are not stupid and will attack from an advantageous position

no one has mentioned flame throwers yet, BTW

I'm thinking you can't move fast while lugging a 50 cal, nor fire rapidly at the pack of velociraptors swarming you, and all the penetration in the world won't help if you don't know where the thing's vitals are - anyone know where the heart is on a T Rex? A triceratops? A spinosaurus?

I like sniper's idea of an underbarrel grenade launcher. Maybe you could get one on something more Dino-worthy than an M16? Do they make launchers for an M14?

Dude, I totally forgot about the T-rex F-14's

Seems to me the M14 had like a grenade launching ability, but it was more of a stick it on the end of the barrel affair

your best option is probably a cobra gunship.
For man portable, gotta go with the Barrett .50, semi auto seems pretty important, though I like the bolt action 20 mm

Maybe that gattling gun off your Cobra, but who is toting the ammo

The chances of Sniper living in Cali are slightly less than the chances that a pack of those monkeys from The Wizard of Oz are fixin' to fly out of my ass.

i had the pleasure of shooting a military .50 cal sniper rifle. they made we put on a flack jacket. awesome power. not something you could hump through any prehistoric jungle. heavy. one misstep into a tar pit, and you will be dragged to the bottom.

i think avoiding the t-rex would be key. 12 gauge for the raptors, but they hunt in packs...i have seen the documentary, with jeff goldblum in it.

personally i think you should avoid spicy food before bedtime. haha.

Actually I liked Deathbeast by David Gerrold a bit better.

^^ that thing is huge! Knocked his hearing protection off . Also looks like he needs a HANS device for the whiplash.

Hambrusch looks weak, not because of the caliber, but because of the rate of fire. One miss at the kill and even a little carnivore would be all over the guy, with or without ear muffs. OTOH, the double-barrel version allows you get two shots off (maybe) just before the dinosaur and his pals make a wish with your extremities - the rifle making a good toothpick after their meal.

Rapid fire is what's needed, and a helicopter is most handy for mobility and to reload without stress (bad for the heart). Dinosaurs realize the lock and load time is of utmost importance to gain the upper hand.

What about incendiary and/or explosive .50 BMG rounds? Sure better than carrying a 20mm.

What was the rifle that Bruce Willis used in the movie the Jackal? I think it was a fake one.

But that, with auto targeting setup in Alien would work. Great for raptors, and the firepower to knock down a trex..... I would be in my hide just waiting for it to be over...
