I have a bit of seat time, and once owned a '66 GT 350 and I've had over 40 911s. But I don't bring either one up constantly. I really don't see the point of going to a Porsche forum and promoting a newer Mustang as better than a 35-year old 911.

the great thing is that it only took Ford 35 years to make a car that is better than the 911 (in 3 respects... or more)

So how many Bullitt Mustangs did Ford make in 2001/2002, those should be rare.
Not exotic like a 928 but rare.

5582 '01 Bullitts. None listed for '02 on The IMBOC site...I believe '01 model year was it for the first run of Bullitt Tribute cars.

Ford only made 318 1968 Shelby GT500KR's, I know that because my friend had one and we restored it...

I really like the new mustangs but the cheap vents, scoops and faux fuel caps etc. are terrible.

I always liked the Mustang - almost all the models.

My first new car out of college was an 85 5 liter. Black, BW 5speed; stainless steel headers, cam, last of the carburetored engines. It seemed so fast, handled fairly well, and only had 225HP. But back then you had a hard time getting horsepower.

The Mustang is today what it has always been: a Mustang. Its never been anything amazing to anyone but its owner. I for one will not entertain the comparison of any early 901 to a Mustang with some bolt ons from the factory.

they are AMAZING as HELL when they come full throttle around a freeking corner and pass ya! talk about some NOISE!

every so often we get a couple at the VARA VASRA races here. always a gas to watch as they have GOBS of horsey power, and if the guy knows how to drive it well a sure contender for at least the podium.

actually they HAVE TOO MUCH horseypower and hauling balls into the corners, they always have lots of body lean, despite being about an inch off the ground.

come on theres nothing like the sound of good ol american v-8 iron, be it a ferd or a chebby.

my electrician amigo "el spark-osus" or "sparky" for short, has a matching numbered all original, frame up resto Z-28 TRANS-AM-4 speed, he wants to put all the safety crap in, and some nice BFG R-1's and go road racing with us after i SUCKED HIM IN HOOK LINE AND SINKER down at INDEMOTORSPORTS when i let him ride w/me in the SUPER DUPER SHOWROOM STOCK POS 911 CAB FROM HELL!

after a few beers(1000+) we(he)me...............decided he will never get what he has into the car out of it at barretts due to the crap economy, and the crap muskle car market. soooooooooooo ...................in our INFINITE WIZZ-DUMB..........

WHY THE HELL NOT TAKE IT OUT ROAD RACING? WTF?

all he needs is the approved rollbar, fire system..............and hes got everything else INCLUDING SUPER ZOOMY FIRE PROOF UBER FLASHY RACEY BOOTIES!

with those booties on he will get all the chicks and all the trophies no freeking DOUBT IN MY MIND!

and as soon as he gets his act together wezzz got just the person to install the approved roll bar and harnesses and fire system and that damn car and the owner WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN!

hahahahaha another sucker sucked into the same azz MOR-ASS as myself with a SHOWROOM STOCK RACEY CAR!

little does he know how quickly it will take over his LIFE and CORRUPT IT FOREVER!

It is what it is.

My brother's best friend is a Mopar guy from way back, has had a couple of wing cars, Daytona Chargers, Superbirds, various hemi cars. Rarest car I have ever ridden in was one of his, 1970 hemi Roadrunner convertible, apparently one of three. He restored it, sold it for a hundred grand back in the late 80's. That was a scary fast car.

This is off topic...and America! You are free to entertain any idea or thing you like...

When you see this in your 901 mirror? Kindly pull over...thank you.

out of those several hundred original 1973 911 RS cars ever made, only about 10,000 are still on the road.

Comparing any car made in 1973 to a modern car is stupid. Hunyadi makes cars now that are better than anything made 37 years ago. The difference is that in 37 more years that 1973 911 will still be around and the 2010 Mustang or Hyundai will have been recycled into a refrigerator.

I say that because of the incessant nature of Mustang-in-your-face propagation. And couple that with the early Porsche owner group bashing. You know after the 2-3 years that the S went to Turkey, I think there are some underlying issues for this to continue. It can't all be about some chassis number changing at this point.

Paul, you should probably take this to the couch. PPOT is not going to be of any help for your issues.

I wouldn't have said anything except for the 2 key words in my message: incessant and propagation. Give us some rest and relief.

Milt, I have not really noticed Tabdullah pushing the Mustangs so much.

I think he means it is similar to what tabs does.

I'm glad Paul has a mustang and enjoys it. I'd like to have one -- I'd also like to have a Prius, Steyr-Puch truck, Lambo and lots of other cars.

But the problem is that Paul repeatedly pushes certain agendas -- that is what milt refers too. It gets old after a while and is no longer "cute," Paul.

a modern mustang? no thanks. i did pass an older version yesterday morning. super clean, maybe a 66. i did slow down to let him catch me, so i could check it out. very nice.

the new ones are like track homes..cookie cutter. like a track home, they do everything as promised, but i dont care what color you paint it..it is still a track home of cars.
