Not sure how many are staying up late to watch this......
I'm hoping I manage to stay away for the whole race.

I stayed up and watched the BBC's live feed on the computer after I got back from the bar. I made it up to lap 30.
Great race! Also lap one wa awesome because no attrition happened. Kobayashi makes F1 better.

First of all, I would like to thank Comcast for running their weekly test of the Emergency Broadcast System EXACTLY the second the race started. When coverage of the race resumed 20 seconds later, I had no freakin' clue what had happened.
Second, I would like to thank Comcast for randomly running VERY LOUD local commercials not during commercial breaks. You correctly anticipated that I would rather have Wilford Brimley screaming at me (at the volume you decided to air the commerical) about Diabetic testing supplies than to see WTF happened with Alonso and Hamilton.

Like I said at the end of the Australian GP: everyone is racing for second place. It was a great race for second, third, forth and beyond..........
Lewis Hamilton's "absolutely shocking" Malaysian Grand Prix weekend took a turn for the worse after the race when stewards handed him a retrospective drive-through penalty. Hamilton was accused of making "more than one change of direction to defend a position", and in accordance with the FIA rules had 20 seconds added to his elapsed time. It meant the McLaren star, who had finished seventh at the end of a difficult race at the Sepang circuit, dropped to eighth, with Kamui Kobayashi in his Sauber the beneficiary as he moved up a position. Hamilton's problems during the race saw him hit from behind by old rival Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari as the Spaniard moved out to overtake. Alonso, however, ran into the right-rear tyre of Hamilton's car, partly damaging the rear floor in the process, whilst at the same time breaking the left end of his own front wing. For causing a collision, the stewards also handed Alonso the same punishment as Hamilton, a 20-second retrospective drive-through penalty. Unlike Hamilton, however, the penalty had no effect on his sixth- placed position in the final classification.

Watch the start again. Keep an eye on Vettel. He moved back and forth three times during the start protecting his position. Guess thats legal and that Hamilton did is not?
Sorry but there are times when the FIA and the way they selectively enforce the rules really pisses me off...

Hammy barely moved back to the right. This racing needs to go back to its roots(late 80s-90s) with innovation, and drivers who were actually allowed to race. Now electronic sprinklers...

Too funny Emcon5!! Just the image that came to mind after seeing the replay, well done! Talk about loose steering.
The managers and stewards of F1 just seem to do all they can to keep the red cars in the game, and to screw Mclaren at any opportunity. Its not inconsistency , it is a constant and tiring prejudice that is ruining F1 for me! Maybe they could focus on seeing that the tires are decent or something that will improve the racing Last edited by tevake; 04-11-2011 at 07:58 AM.. |
