What has this world come to in terms of self expression?

To be cool and express your artistic flair, you lie face down on a random object? Where is your individuality?

It all feels very "Orwellian/1984" to me.

I never heard of planking until yesterday. Then I saw something similar to above stating planking is old and now owling is in.

I heard of planking on Discovery News months ago since a few Australians died in planking stunts gone wrong, but I never heard of owling until now.
