Well... they both played their roles well, but they were both painful to watch. Ana is unbelievably sexy, but it's wasted on a character that chooses to torture her husband. Ben's seething rage was intense, but the whole story was fairly ridiculous. Not a great watch.

Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda, Anthony Quinn

Netflix did a good job on this one.
A lot of stuff I didn't know/remember

Not one of Afflecks best movies but Anna made it watchable.

I watched 9 bullets the other day. Better than reruns of the golden girls. But not a lot better.

"Nothing's too good for the man who shot Liberty Valence"

One of the best end lines ever.

Ford's last movie, I think....

"Space Cowboys" on Ovation........legend!

stevej37 05-01-2022 04:39 PM

On Netflix...but not a movie. If you like trivia...along with a twist, this is good. Howie is the host.

"Dirt" the documentary about the 1979 Baja has been running on Screenpix. Mickey Thompson had a broken back and still ran the race in a buggy.

John Hillerman as the store clerk/owner in "High Plains Drifter"......also Paul Brinegar plays the bartender.....

Joe Kidd was on earlier....maybe an under appreciated Clint western.....

From 1996. "Erasure" on AMC....

Baz 05-18-2022 04:29 PM

"Top Gun" on Paramount - epic!

Baz 05-18-2022 07:10 PM

Gotta say......"Top Gun" is one of my fav. movies. It's so good on so many levels. The soundtrack, the aircraft and videography, the storyline, acting.....and of course McGillis when she was smokin' hot.

And one of the best lines ever:

"Negative Ghost Rider....the pattern is full..."

On Prime, a weird one "The Boys''....season two.

Joe Bob 05-18-2022 10:45 PM

Finally, a Nic Cage movie that totally didn't suck...."Primal" about escaped snakes, monkeys and a Jaguar...on a tramp steamer in the Gulf off of Mexico/PR.

A found a HD-Remastered version of The Lost Boys (1987). Still cool after all these years. :)

'Our Father' on Netflix.
Interesting...see it before they are forced to take it down.... https://news.yahoo.com/women-sue-netflix-over-father-204343606.html

If you like anime, Invincible.....kind of puerile but entertaining. On Prime.

JackDidley 05-26-2022 07:42 PM

Nightmare Alley. Sort of an offbeat movie about a carnival hustler, that takes the hustle out on his own. He takes the hustle too far. May be too offbeat for some but I liked it.

I never saw 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) before. It's on the Disney+ channel. Not bad, especially for 1954. James Mason, Kirk Douglas, and Peter Lorre. Plus a seal that stole the show. Although depicted as hunted, no giant turtles were actually harmed during filming.
