I might have to watch this again....one of the best soundtracks ever.

That movie terrified me at the time. I did a paper on Tubular Bells for one of my classes. Oldfield played every instrument and used some creative recording techniques.

Speaking of great sound tracks I just watched the Magnificent Seven again.

"Chris: You forget one thing. We took a contract.

Vin: It's sure not the kind any court would enforce.

Chris: That's just the kind you've got to keep"

^^^
It's the only movie soundtrack that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
And it only takes the first few notes.

"Starship Troopers" on IFC.

The only good bug is a dead bug!"

Saw this last night....a very good movie.
I wasn't expecting much, being part 4.....but I think it was the best one of four.
The ending was very well done. (the first half of the movie was predictable...the second half was much better)

Well, now the insects are on OUR side! "Ant Man"!

Looking at Dr. Hank Pym, hard to believe so many years have gone by since the classic "Romancing the Stone".

'Pig' starring Nicolas Cage on Prime.
A very thoughtful movie.

Watched Road to Perdition on Netflix. Great movie, good characters with Paul Newman and Tom Hanks, a classic.

^ That is a great movie, filmed in and around my home town.

Been watching a few of the Alfred Hitchcock movies lately on Netflix.
The Birds.
Psycho.

They hold up well, and the era and vehicles captured is very cool.
I like black & white too.

Finally got around to watching The Ballad of Buster Scruggs in full.
Some stories good, some not so good...
The Gold Canyon was the best, but written by Jack London. Stayed true to the short story.

Love that Aston Martin in the birds

Black968 04-24-2023 05:43 PM

Saw "In the Bedroom" (2001) with Tom Wilkinson, Sissy Spacek, Marisa Tomei, great story with good character development, a little dark but a good ending.

Unfortunately no Hitchcock on Netflix in Canada.

From 1975 and starring Chuck Bronson....."Breakheart Pass" - starting in a few minutes on "Grit TV".....

They don't make them like they use to Baz. Hard Times with James Coburn, Robert Tessier, Strother Martin is a classic. Story of a drifting street fighter, decent character development, fight scenes are realistic for the time.

Chokehold on Netflix.

I haven't watched much of this, but these might be some interesting recommendations.

Yah Black - most, if not all, Bronson's movies were fantastic!

Last night on Grit was another great one I've seen a couple times "The Bravados" with Gregory Peck along with a really great cast.

Interesting plot twist at the end!
