The 'hay fork' scene was unforgettable! :D
Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 92%

Maxxine is sort of a sequel.

"The union"

Couldn't finish it.

This comes out December 25, 2024 on Netflix. I'm a huge fan. Feathers McGraw was a great villain.

Re: Mia Goth and the Pearl / Maxxxine movies.
The first movie that ties into the above is "X".
I thought it was worth the watch.

"Top Gun" just started on Paramount....one of the best guy movies ever made!

"She's lost that loving feeling."

"No she hasn't."

:D

Steve Carlton 08-20-2024 07:42 PM

"I hate it when she does that."

flatbutt 08-21-2024 11:14 AM

José Ferrer fest on TCM today.......

Quote:

José Vicente Ferrer de Otero y Cintrón[1] (January 8, 1912 – January 26, 1992) was a Puerto Rican actor and director of stage, film and television. He was one of the most celebrated and esteemed Hispanic American actors—or, indeed, actors of any ethnicity—during his lifetime and after, with a career spanning nearly 60 years between 1935 and 1992.

Liked him as the defense attorney, Lieutenant Barney Greenwald, in The Caine Mutiny (1954).

As always............commercial free!

It's long, be prepared to be confused until around two hours in, when it starts making sense. Have some beers and snacks and understand it's a story, not a fast action movie.

Scenery of course is spectacular, and probably pretty realistic pioneer life depictions.

People wanting instant gratification will quickly get bored as the intent is a long four-part epic on the settlement of the west. Both sides portrayed fairly. Native American indigenous people and the "white eyes."

I'm probably biased since it was a long filming process here. Of course, if you've never seen Moab, the scenery alone is worth it.

I streamed it on Max and agree with what you said. The landscapes alone are worth it. Some excellent western scenes and some a lot less so.

Was the ending a collage of unannounced previews of future chapters, or did I miss an announcement?

All 3 are pretty equal. Sorry it took 3 days to get back on this.

stevej37 08-26-2024 05:25 AM

^^^ No problem....I'm in no hurry to see it. :)

An AI wife could be fun. Not a terrible movie.

I wonder how much maintenance costs would be?

Steve Carlton 08-27-2024 07:48 AM

Varies depending on use. The schedule for heavy duty/off road use has intervals twice as frequent.
