That's great advice for our young man here to follow. Let's see if he does. But the whole statement that millennials work longer hours and harder for their employers thing is just laughable. It's a non-starter, no matter what academic study anyone wants to ding out the ass.

As far as fighting and dying...many many more were boomers (don't they teach you guys history at all?...and every millennial joined by choice.

If you started $100K in debt, it is because you spent money you simply did not have. You could have always joined the military or got a job like anyone else. Even so, with the much higher wages, it should not have taken you long to pay off $100K anyways. My daughter has more than that in the bank after just 4 years in the workforce.
and yet you miss the point.

you told us to spend that money on college. you made it so that people HAD to spend that money.

and no other generation has had to. you created that world.

good job.

and yet its true. the workforce today works longer, for less money, while creating the largest profit for the company, than at any other point in human history.

but as you said, you are unwilling to accept these facts, no matter the evidence presented for them. another great boomer characteristic ... unwillingness to look for objective facts to inform ones opinions and statements.

just remember, Aristotle is on record for thinking the generation after him was lazy and entitled. i wonder if there had been objective records on these sorts of things, if he would have listed to the data or not?

So why don't you band together with other like-minded millenials and start your own company? Create your own jobs. Stop being an employee, and start being the boss.

Ahh - we have the dilemma. Multiple opposing anecdotes. Are millennials coddled snowflakes or simply oppressed by the situation of the day?

We need DATA...

You guys make up your own data as you go. The mostly unemployed folks of your generation with the basketweaving degrees don't work at all.

You aren't going to do well in life blaming others for your poor life choices. My two kids are 28 and 30 both of them are doing very well and pretty much all 30 or 40 of their friends who applied themselves in school seem to be doing well also.

I don't complain about the situation, I complain about comments regarding laziness.

Wait until you accomplish something...then complain. Everyone doesn't get a trophy.

When I was a kid we didn't get trophies for participation. Millennials didn't get trophies for participation. That is a new thing that applies to what you would call the iGeneration.

my life is excellent. im doing great. i have multiple patents, several race cars, a house with a garage twice the size, i date amazing women, just came back from a great vacation ... my life is awesome.

because of the choices i made and my hard work.

that does not mean the boomers are not the most selfish, entitled and destructive generation in american history. and that menials are working harder, for longer, for less pay, and profiting there companies more than any other generation in american history.

why do basic economic facts and figures baffle boomers so much? why can they not understand that personal experience is nothing compared to the raw data?

degrees you created. you told them to get, and you told them they should take out thousands of dollars to get, because you jacked up college prices, and meanwhile made job requirements ridiculous that everyone needs a 4 year degree now, when in reality, they don't.

do you not see the issue?

every mistake you blame on us ... we did because you told us to, or because we are trying to operate in a world you created for us.

you guys are supposed to be the adults, take some ****ing responsibility for 5 seconds for the world you created.

I thought you had student loans, a 944 and an MR2, that you were on a couple patents as a group and were really not making money on them and you rent a house...and the bearded woman at the circus is amazing.

Are your only accomplishments so material? Aren't you almost 30?

Yeah, everyone except for the lazy Millennials.

Oh, and "in human history" covers ..oh I don't know..America pre-1863? or hmm..freaking Egypt during the time of the pharaohs? Or let me see early 20th century America before the child labor laws and unions etc? Or...I know, how about France pre-1789?

Hey, now that I think about it, this "workforce" really doesn't work that much. And frankly, you seem to brag that you don't either.

You know the irony here - anecdotally speaking, the Millennials who I know and hire complain that no one will give them a job because of the high minimum wage. Everyone wants experience prior to giving someone a job now. Those who do get a job such as working at a market, restaurant, or a loader at a home improvement store, are cut back to around 20-25 hrs per week. That way they can be classified as temp workers. They don't get benefits and can be fired at will.

Those who are not lazy want to work more, not less. And they certainly do not complain about how much they work, unlike the Millennials on this board. Rather, they complain that they are not given a shot to prove themselves. I've hired a few, and written a few letters of recommendation for a few Millennials. So take this for what that is worth.
