Conversion hinge update; due to cost increases, the hinge price is $175.00. This includes shipping and with the extra shock mod and body mount. Thanks, Matt

It's finally installed Souk sold me lid + his C2 welded hinges. I also bought Matt's hinges because I wanted both around at install to see what I wanted to use. Souk's welding is fine and they fit great but where the hinges fit to the tub the originals have a bolt that's cut to fit into the cabin connector to lock the bolt so it doesn't spin and lock the position. I was told by another pelicanhead that the 964 hinges wouldn't sway the lid once mounted. I didn't find that applied to my install and decided to use Matt's hinges. Now the stock hinges lock to the tub with no adjustment. You still have side to side adjustment at the hinge-lid mounting. Anyway Matt's hinges fit perfectly and I have no issue. The lid is mounted with a carb install. There was a little trimming and removal of lid parts so the K&N filter case would clear. I also removed all excess electrical crap. Up/Down switches, interior light, excess wiring, etc was all removed. I use a momentary switch to raise/lower. 5 seconds to raise and 4 sec to lower. I don't lean on switch after it's just about at the end of its travel. If it's a 1/8" below or above its max travel it don't matter. If you lean on it the motor ot gear manual speedo style cable will load. I even sometimes go n opposite direction after travel to make sure its not loaded. My brain is a little nutty as I also do this with the sunroof to keep it unloaded when parked in garage or when in use. It was painted with Dupont Cromabase and Imron clear top and bottom. I can be a pia, like others, in getting my car exactly as I want it. Matt's hinges are a class act in my opinion.

Ronin, Nice install. How about a full shot of that car... is it brown or something else?

Nice fabricating! And to think, when I did mine way back in the middle 90s I simply used the factory hinges from my SC and used a spacer rod and longer bolt. For $3.00 it was the deal of the day! | ||

thx It's not a track car so I'm hoping the 964 spoiler will work for me. What happens is that the car gets thrown around when I'm driving around the country by the wind thrown off from big rigs and wide open country high winds. The Carrera spoiler is the high end way to go but this should be all I need. If not it's for sale after next ride. I also want low key for local street and cross country hick town profile. It's bad enough I have NY plates on it. I do have the Carrera front chin spoiler installed also.
