The first year of owning this '83 Targa has been simply amazing! I logged almost 8,000 miles on it--participating in two rallies, a concours, numerous C&Cs, and countless weekday and weekend drives! I'll be honest, I initially didn't want a Targa but this one popped up locally (original owner, well sorted, and a very fair price) and it has been a blast to drive.

It has also changed dramatically--I've added the pasha interior and sports seats as well as removed the tea tray spoiler, upgraded the Fuchs, installed H4s and a 930s steering wheel. It has been very rewarding to make it my own--how I envision a 911sc to look and feel.

Driving a Targa sans top in sunny, 70 degree weather is an experience like no other--the sights, the sounds, the smells. It is enveloping and wonderful.

Can't remember if I posted on this but want to join in.

This is my car that I've known for all 45 years of her life. It's Ice Green Metallic and I'm looking forward to my drive in it this weekend.

Additionally, I can't wait to give it to my son and his 3 boys (3,1,1) to play with when they get older.
Who knows...they might be on Pelican asking questions like "what the hell did my dad do to this car"?
There's nothing like a Targa!

Not sure if I have posted here yet:

Had this 1973 T Targa since summer of 2000.

It was my best friend's until he passed in 1998, so it's more than a car to me now,
