Yeah thanks! I bought the car a few months ago with most of the modifications done. At first I was iffy on the polished CC's but as I look around nobody else seems to have them. As far as the wheelwell trim, I have no idea. This car came from west TX and had most everything done out there. The front lip is actually off now and the fog lights are yellow. Thats my latest contribution. ![]()

My '88. 83K miles. .125" lower than euro ride height, corner balanced, turbo tierods, cross drilled zimmermans w/ ferodo ds2500 pads, SteveW chip, SSIs w/ M&K muffler, a few braces here and there. Basically what everyone here does to their 20 year old car!

Here's my new (old) targa that I bought from a fellow Pelican! I contacted PCA state president and asked for a recommendation of a knowledgeable person in the area to inspect the car since I was out of state. Jeff Kolk in Michigan gave a very thorough inspection.... thanks to PCA and Jeff!
I specfically wanted an old Targa.. I love the silver targa band, the chrome grills, and headlight rings... such a classic look. I think as these older 911's become more of a classic, the targas will be just as or more desirable than the coupes. We've owned 2 coupes already and definately enjoy driving the targas more around everyday. The kids like the targa more as well! I'm currently returning the blacked out parts to the chrome. ![]() ![]() |

My 81, -resto thread is live as well, This was a just barely driver that I have done a full cosmetic resto on, as well as a color change from dark brown, to Carmine Red. Car also has fresh brakes, lowered to euro height, front and back spoilers, and weber 40's

This is my third Targa; in 20 years of 911 ownership, I've also had two coupes. The Targas always seem to have more personality, even if you give up a little ultimate track performance.
The orange car just went to it's first DE last weekend, and I'll be looking for a trombone replacement soon; she got hot, but not crazy hot. Great street car, though and I'm not going to "enhance" it too far to the track side this time. And yes, it came from the factory in that '70's Gulf orange color. ![]()

Me too! Make that Continental (not Gulf) Orange. Rest assured - with an orange car, you won't see a duplicate at the prom.

Mines has been sitting outside for a few months due to flooring and bathroom remodels in the house. I need to get it back in the garage.

And enjoying every minute of the half open air motoring that this Targa provides.
It's an 1987 targa. My first mod was to wash the headlights with rubbing alcohol - a little trick I learned on Pelican! What a great site... ![]() ![]() |

looks like a bat-mobile ready for lift off or racing down the twisty road that led to the batcave... no disrespect here... that Black just looks soo clean and that is what popped into my head... very nice looking car for sure... proper f/r height adjustment w/ slight front rake... cool !!

Looks wicked bad in the middle of Chicago like that, like some business mogul's getaway machine.
Just gosh-dang beautiful.
