I have seen some 78's first year SC with the stainless from the factory but Ihave neve rcome across one past 78 that was from the factory in stainless.

If you like the look its not all that hard to strip the black

Black trim became optional about 1978(?), and then black became standard and shiny became optional about 1981 or 1982, so late 70's- mid 80's could could be either trim, assuming what I read is correct,

To my knowledge the black t-bar came post 1977, the year that both the 2.7 and the sc were in production. I have a late 1977 2.7 and it came with the aluminum brushed t-bar. The sc came with black trim
