Nice to see a few more orange Targas around the country. I was told by the PO that my car was Gulf orange, but I can't confirm...and neither can PCNA. I just received my Certificate of Authenticity (please, no chuckles) and under Exterior Color it listed "Paint to Sample- Metallic 99". Alrighty, it WAS a special order, but it's not metallic and I still don't know which orange was ordered; Blut/Tangerine, Gulf, Continental or something non-Porsche...like Gator orange

But in the end, a local paint supplier matched it nicely for the soon-to-be installed H4 rings, rear valance and, ahem, ducktail. More 70's look.....

I started a thread the other day, but I thought I would bring the ultimate targa thread back to page 1! I just bought this great diamond blue metallic '87 targa saturday. I can't wait to drive it this summer and fall!

Congrats on the new Targa, its the only way to go! If you ever drive across the state, let me know. We can meet up, compare notes, and have a beverage. She's a beauty!

Okay, it's time to add mine! 1986 Guards Red, with 150,000 km. Had it for about 2 months and loving it. Previous owner was the original owner and my father in-law, so I know the complete history... all original and only serviced at Porsche. So far I've replaced the tires, strut inserts, shocks and lowered it, also put in a SW chip. Next is a wevo shifter that is sitting in my garage waiting to go in.

Hope this works....First time trying to send a picture. Just second post.

1988 Carrera Targa, I'm the third owner with every record from new. 119,000 miles, sport seats, LSD, 100% original, no leaks, original paint, no accidents, and just spent Sunday on a 4-5 hr. drive to Bishops Castle here in Co. Took about 3 months to find, and I was looking hard.

Ed, is that a stainless targa bar? did you "clean" yours, or replace it?

What are you doing with those wheels that are on it?!?! Need some polished CC's?

Jeff, I cleaned mine with mothers mag and wheel polished and it worked out the same. It was stainless to begin with but I wanted it to match the trim and wheels.

Yes, it is a S/S bar....it was ordered thusly with the bright trim and a paint to sample.

She's soon to be shod with a set of Forged 17" Fuchs replicas in RSR finish courtesy of a certain member of this board...

Special Wishes @ Porsche did a lot of even more oddball stuff.

We may be cousins.....I know another 911 fanatic with the same last name. He did a DNA deal, and the Hughes name was heavily embedded in a small portion of Scotland and Wales, so if you go back far enough.....
