Sabeo,

Looks great are those the 235 x 16's on the rear? They look sticky.

Yep I agree, great stance on that car, they look wider than most 225's in the picture.

Sticky is good.

Like some of the others posted, just removed the tail from my G50 Targa.

For many years I was a "coupe only" guy (also had a cab once), until I stumbled on a "price too good to pass up" Targa a few years ago.

Sold that one a while ago, but have owned 2 others since, both Targas. I'm now a "targa only" guy!

For my use in Southern California, it's a perfect car. I never, ever have the top on. I've had it almost a year, and the only time I ever drove with the top on was when I drove it home after buying it. Top went in the attic and I haven't even seen it since. I have one of those Carbrella tops that I can throw on in 10 seconds when I want it covered when parked, which is more convenient than the cab.

Also, I find that the Targa is far stiffer than the Cab. The cab was a little too shaky to me, even for just normal street driving. It was ok, but I like the feel of the targa a bit better.

Viva Targas!

Looks good indeed.

Lowered? Looks like it is, which makes the wheels fill out the fenders more.

G50: Nice writeup on your Targa experience. Could you elaborate on what the Carbrella Top is? Sounds interesting.

lol, twins, except you have the rear wiper.

The only other think I was thinking about is colormatching the wheels. I remember when these cars were new (and I was only dreaming of owning one at that time), seeing so many GP White with the matched wheels. Seemed fairly popular at the time, brings back a lot of memories.

I have leftover paint from my rear spoiler removal project, so I could redo them to white in an afternoon. Fond memories of the '80s aside, I'm not sure I could live with it, though.

Sample of what it looks like:

Sure.

Here's from the Mfr.:

"The waterproof Carbrella is a great way to protect your interior while parked, and goes on quicker and easier than your standard Targa top. Made of high-grade black fabric with steel reinforced panels, it weighs only four pounds and attaches in seconds. It folds up to store conveniently behind your seats."

I find it very, very convenient, makes owning the car a lot more enjoyable to me. Sticks to the side window with built in suction cups. Never have to use the big heavy top!

You can find them on eBay, Pelican may sell them, or google "carbrella."

Thanks, G50. I will look into the Carbrella, it sounds like a winner to me since this is a nice-weather only driver.

....Ordered!

I have had mine for about two years now and need to do the suspension pan now, still haven't redone the original top but it is only a sunny day car right now anyway so I haven't put much priority on it.

One funny note is the instruction sheet that comes with it has pictures of a woman putting it on a Ferrari and it looks like the picture was taken back in 1988 based on her hairdo! Picture Peg Bundy with a perm!
