Ed, don't you hate having to slow down for those bikes in the corners!

Ed - Great video! Couple of questions - are you using a GoPro, and where/how did you mount it? Also, what do you use on your dash - looks like it's brand new.

It is a GoPro HD in 720P mounted to my rollbar diagonal. Nothing special about the dash-original to my knowledge.

finish
Hey Curt... the finish is something the two Italian sports car co's are using now on their wheels. I think they have initials od "F" & "L"....
Anyway, it's a bronzed chrome / powder. It's a fairly contemporary product that the Italians are sorta market testing. When my associate asked what the color the Targa was, I thought WTF....along with with the orange Porsche script it really brings a pop to the car. When I'm done with the SW I will have RW take some pics, so they might use for their marketing plan. I guess I should have known you'd be lurking here on this thread ??? ![]() |

Spotted this badass Targa at Owl's Head in Maine the day before yesterday. Prepped for the Targa Newfoundland.

Ok, so I found this thread finally after lurking about the forum for a couple months. In May, on our company intranet, a guy in Facilities was selling this beauty that he picked up cheap and flipped after a couple repairs.
It's a 1985 ROW car, with the original owners name (a doctor in Paradise Valley) inscribed as "Imported by" on the passenger door pillar manufacturer plate. I presume that means it was a one-time exemption import with the 231 HP engine? 122K miles, with 16" Fuchs, cold A/C, and... just puts a smile on my face every time I get in. It's way too hot to really enjoy it with the top off, so its mostly sitting in the garage waiting for October (I am getting it out for a drive every two weeks or so). Thanks to everyone here for all I've learned so far, and for what I'll learn in the future. ![]() |

Hmmm.. this one seems to have a couple of sisters & brothers around.. twins no doubt.
78 SC, India Red/Blk, very original w/106k mi. It's the spare in the stable & I'm thinking of parting with it. If you know someone interested ping me for details. ![]() ![]()

For what it's worth, relative to the rattles and squeaks that some Targa tops seem to generate, I followed the advice I found here and shot the fittings, especially the rearward ones, with a dose of silicon. Problem solved. The top now is as quiet as a mouse.
