So this is my car back from page 3 of this thread from when I first got her many years ago. She's been "changed" around some since my first pics, but mostly I've just driven her like crazy. She's covered over 220K miles and for a 76 she keeps on kicking. Exterior wise there were a few changes like wheels and headlights. Most of my stuff has been internal, like new motor, suspension, interior, seats, etc. I've actually been in lurker status here for a while because I've just been driving and was working on another car for awhile. But I'm starting to go back in and refresh things on her so I figured I'd stop in for ideas and tips. When I saw this thread was still alive I figured I'd update with some new pics.

Here she is after all my work since July. A little dirty but it was a nice day here today so after a nice drive I took a few pics.

That's nice, Dennis.

For a second I thought that was my old 78. It gave me a car flutter

But no, different car. Besides mine was a 78 US model. Same setup though black and lobster.

Enjoy!

My Barn Find (sort of) 76 Targa

My good friend Joe bought a shiny new Jag last month at Jake Kaplan's Jaguar in Rhode Island. After he closed the deal on his new Jag the owner of the dealership took him out to a back storage garage to show off her immaculate 1960 E-type. While he was in the garage he noticed a lonely little Targa stuffed in a dark corner with a NOT FOR SALE sign scrawled on the rear window. He asked her about the car and she said that a customer dropped it off for service 20 years ago and never came back to pick it up, something to do with a divorce. She said that the car was not for sale because they didn't have the legal paperwork to sell it. I called the dealership as soon as Joe told me about the car and I told them I wanted to buy it. After a good deal of begging and pleading she agreed to get the paperwork in order to sell the car and I bought it about a month later for $7,500. Cosmetically and structurally everything is in perfect original condition, inside and out including the very rare brushed aluminum rocker panel and fender trim, only 60K mi. I've started to address the mechanical end of things by removing and cleaning the very dirty fuel tank and sent out the FD, & WUR to be rebuilt. Doing lots of other things while I wait for the fuel parts to return. Valve adjustment and gaskets, Ignition parts, new fuel pump, fuel lines, battery, 11 blade fan removed thermal reactors etc. etc. Good compression and head bolts!! Hope I get her running before the summer gets here!!

Great old movie chase scene with Yellow Targa

You'll love this chase scene although the music is a bit strange.
