Too much coffee...time to light this puppy

Using the charger as a boost for the Odessey 680, we were ready to go. The plan was that when or if we got it started, that Chris would shut the rear lid, run around to the front of the car, remove the battery charger and shut and lock the hood. In an effort to keep the initial run in at idle for a minimum, I would stay in the car and try to keep it running. When all was clear, I would head out the driveway to the road (8100 ft) and make as many passes up and down the road in front of the house to log the requisite 20 minutes. No excuses...plan and fire extinguishers in place. I turned the key...fuel pump comes to life...let it build pressure and triggered the starter
I literally fired right up! No coughing or struggling...like it was my daily driver. We disconnected everything and I head out

First pass

and down the hill

I had a loose connection to my fuel pump which caused the car to come to a stop halfway through my 20 minutes, but after organizing a tow back up the mountain...I wiggled a couple connectors, the fuel pump came back to life, the little odessey still had enough juice to crank the engine and it fired right back up. The rest of the 20 minutes was without issue.
I decided that the dirty little car deserved a wash after doing so well. Gratuitous
pics...

Congratulations, looks great and I hope to see in person one day. I am very sad to see it complete since I will miss the updates but one of the best builds I've seen on Pelican. Thank you for sharing Lars, your work is beautiful.

This car is really sweet! Congratulations! The hard work really paid off!

Now you can enjoy your car at last. Still I bet, that process of getting the car to the final shape was fun also.

Congrats Speedo looks great and I must tell you you have set the bar very high for all of us and enjoy that car. I am not far from putting the motor back in my car and startup shortly after that.

Lars:

Congratulations on a fine job. We all knew it would fire right up! Were you on the Peak-to-Peak Highway yesterday? We were, but I saw no blue SWB cars...

Attaboy Lars! How does the muffler sound? Did all the guages work? What about your cross drilled, alloy lug nuts, did they survive the test drive?

Well that was an journey well worth the time taken. Hope driving it is as rewarding as the build must have been. I hope some day I will finely get my car done and back on the road, but in the mean time your car has been an inspiration anmd source of ideas that I have 'borrowed' on a regular basis.

Crack a cold one and cheers...

Congrats to you on completion....and brilliant craftsmanship.

Does the thread have to take a hike immediately ? Afterall - there usually is an important shakedown phase to address various running issues...

..Uhm, I gotta hunch that these two nitrous chicks would love that car ! !
