Thank you for your good respons. No, I have not talked to Wayne yet, do you think if I call him that he will give the needed information that is what I am looking for?
I think it is worth a try. Wayne is a great guy.

The project Porsche 962 chassis number will be: 962N-001

The "N" states built in Norway, and the first letter in my last name. 001 the first one and maybe the only one that will be built in Norway!

Link to worlds 962 chassis numbers.

Fran Hall at RCR might be of some help to, he is also a great guy. He is building a car in the light of a 962 and may be able to help on some points.

Managed to make it by Andial and talked to Deiter...
... and learned a little more.

The cars never went through Andial. The motors were the only part they did. All most all the motors went through them for rebuilds. Asked him if there was any directions he would look for info and his first recommendation was Bruce Canepa. Bruce probably has info about the dimensions but even if he doesn't he has 962-170 to measure. He just recently picked it up and I bet he will be stripping it back to the bare chassis in preparation to selling it.

Another good reference that is almost the same time zone as you would be Trevor, ex of Group C Ltd in England. Until they shutdown recently they were probably the biggest supplier of 962 parts and rebuilding of cars. Trevor is still doing 962 work as is mentioned on the Group C website.

The last suggestion is to contact anyone who ran a 962 team back then. Seeing that they were responsible for their own chassis I suspect someone has the basic measurements to check if a chassis is square.

I have lots of photos of my 962's but I do have a friend that has plans/CAD for everything you need but not sure he would just hand them out.. he even has the tub plans.

I actually sold this car to Matt Drendel then bought it back after he got the Holbert 62. It is a factory tub

. . .

What chassis number is that?
Interesting to see the differences in the chassis.

Here is the nose of 962-170 which is almost the last Porsche 962 chassis produced. They went full monocoque on the nose of it.

Interesting how racecars develop over time.

Subscribed. Now this is a project. It makes everything else we're doing on this board look amateurish.

Hi guys. Yes, I do have four of these puppies now. I can help out with measurements, etc. but I need the requests to be super-detailed so I'm not guessing at what you need (and then have to go back and do it again). I'm really, really short on time these days. If you want, you can post a picture and put arrows on the picture showing what dimensions you are looking for, so that it's crystal clear.

I have four chassis, all are different:

- 962-121 which is a factory Porsche chassis (won Sebring, 1987 & 1988!)
- 962-110 (CK6-10). Kremmer car from 1987, Thompson chassis
- 962-106b which is an RLR chassis (won the Nurburgring in 1987)
- 962-138 all-carbon fiber Schuppan chassis

All of them except the RLR chassis use mostly factory suspension parts, but they are all still slightly different, each and every one.

Hello Wayne, and thank you for your positive attitude.

I will make a detail drawing in Autocad, scan it to pdf and send to you. I have no hurry, so I wait for a while, since you say you are short in time. I can also call you first.

Thank you

Hi guys,
Just got an update from my friend (Proj_962_Norway) who is building this 962.
He sent me an updated picture of where he's at in the build.

My friend helidoc was rebuilding a 962 at one point before he sold. If you search under 962 and find his thread it could be helpful.

Sub'd this is epic!
Beautiful fab work too.

Has the builder had any other significant Porsche race car ownership/experience? Is this his first total ground up fabrication of a historic race car or has he done others Porsche or otherwise ?

Thanks for sharing !!
