I pulled the horns & bumpers off "Crusty" the 74 911
Does that count?? Thinking this rear bumper will go nicely on my 81.

This knob looks great, nice job on the machining.

It would also make a great tap handle, LOL

Cheers

A beautiful piece of art, however it would not be usable in the hot Southern California sun... Ouch!

Finished a 4 month part time project - rewiring most of the systems in the car for simplicity and reliability - using a battery in the smuggler's box, a battery contactor, new main ATO fuse block, three remote fuse blocks and four relays. I am no longer using switches for the main power distribution.

more details here:

battery relocate = fuse box relocate?

Replaced the water pump on my C4S. Took me 5 hours! I pulled the engine and trans out of my 72 in less time.

Great job, Mike.

This is something I'd like very much to do on my '87.

I pushed mine out of it's stall so I could fix the hoist. Made a nice change from fixing cars. Then I drove it back in!

The oil cooler core is the culprit.
I was surprised that the oil cooler came out as easily as it did without dropping the engine or removing the RH intake. Just had to drop the header and unbolt the tin.
Now to find a replacement

What did you do to your 911 today?

Started this repair last week and it's still rolling forward.

Repaired and adjusted parking brake contact and now the light functions properly. Fixed a short in the auto heat control unit. It should operate too, although I haven't had a chance to cycle it yet.

While the interior is out, thought I would tackle the broken defroster/fresh air levers.

Old broken head unit:

New/used head unit in place. This is one repair I really don't want to do again.... A major PIA, but doable. Was able to do the repair without pulling the blower. However, I did end up pulling it to reindex the wipers. How's that for ironic?

Although, I have no idea what this mystery white wire is for or even goes too. Haven't found it on the schematic and it just ends in the trunk area.

The only real challenge was to get my meat hooks in where I could get to the wee 10mm nut for the wiper arm rotation.

Also cleaned several connections and replaced some bulbs since I was in there.

More to follow, cheers

Fitted a water pump and thermostat to the C4S. Also rebuilt the SAI pump and put new bearings in it. Then found the blower motor was making a clicking noise as if something was hitting the fan blades. Pulled it out, tested, no noise. Reinstalled, still no noise....

Adjusted the cabriolet roof which was loose, then fitted a new mounting bracket for the front Litronic sensor.

Next job, either IMS bearing upgrade or finding and re-installing a Becker CDR23 to get rid of the CAN bus faults that appear in Durametric scans.

Gradually clearing all those OBD fault codes :-)

Yes, air filter housings too, but I have since swapped them out for something simpler.
