Not in North Texasssss - that system is completely ineffective from April well into November (unless you enjoy being scallded by the sun and cooked by the heat and humidity while going from point A-to-B, buttofcourse )!

I'm in Central Florida, I know all about the heat and humidity! It's just the Targa is such a superior design compared to the coupe, I don't need no stinking A/C.

I am afraid Ronnie is correct.

Texas heat is genuine. Florida heat is simply fashion. Something spoken of rather than truly endured.

Agree. I am actually interested in the tech aspect. I hope this AC thug is on to something.

Do you grow weed in the back seat area (aka: terrarium) of yer Targa like my good friend, Bob K. does (I hear that's the norm for Targa guys)? I mean, besides the excellent farming potential that design offers, it seems like one would have to be stoned blind to buy/own/drive a Targuuuuu in the first place!!!

North Tejas heat is more realer. Way to many therms, just less wetter.

Little know fact - Bob wrote the following song while struggling with his troubling desire for Targa ownership!

DAVE SAID
“Hi Reid,
It looks like you have two 10 foot hoses in a temporary hookup to reverse the condenser order. Were yo able to route those hoses, and have the function you were looking for?
Thanks,
Dave

Absolutely!

IT WORKED BETTER THAN I COULD EVER HAVE IMAGINED !

Buy some temporary cheap hose, hose clamps, and fittings to fit your condenser etc connections
This will cost you maybe $50-$100
Simply Disconnect your hoses leaving them in place
Connect the new temporary hose, reversing the gas flow from stock/OEM mentality and you will prove this works
FOR YOURSELF

Don’t let the repair/aftermarket shops take this information from my discovery apply it and hide it from you and other DIY’ers and use it to make money from you after they see this information !

TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT !!!

Instead of using the term, "reverse flow", I suggest substituting terms such as regurgitate, recycle, back flush and other non-descriptive terms for this potentially viable strategy. I think you'll get less push-back from the tech crowd.

KeloGes;

Just to be clear... I believe that no one, myself especially, has any question as to whether or not your high pressure side flow re-arrangement will work.

The question I have, based on the airflow measurements and physical size of the front and rear condensers that I published, just what was the overall improvements in A/C performance?

I note that the front condenser you seemed to use is not factory and therefore may be more efficient, thereby biasing the system in favor of your statement. On the other hand I suspect the fan you used to cool the front condenser was less capable than the factory blower so maybe that is a "push" overall.

You seem to be a champion of tightly sealing the engine lid against bypass cooling airflow. How did you accomplish that while using those external hoses?

Also not sure what you think is accomplished information wise, publishing the guage readings. Can you explain?

Finally. Do you have any evidence whatsoever that would indicate to readers of this thread that there was actually an improvement in A/C performance gained by re-routing vs not?

Before and after data using the none standard front condenser/fan arrangement in both cases?

Say comparative rate at which each configuration pulled the cabin down from ambient to a specific temperature level..?

KeloGes;

Did you at all consider that with the high side pressures/temperature indicated by the guages that extra cooling via 20 feet of hose might have bias your "test" quite substantially?
