I hope the pilot survived. I rolled up on one that hooked a wheel while landing for a load. I could have sworn it was a fatal accident. It was balled up into a twisted mass of metal. The cockpit cage remained intact and he crawled out.

Good survivable design. It was a turbine agg tractor

Removed the cowling to recheck everything after a full power run up, before a lap in the pattern.

Washed it and figured I will gain at least 10 knots by removing all the dirt. Lol

MILAM COUNTY - A pilot is recovering after crashing his crop duster in Milam County.

According to the FAA and Department of Public Safety, 62-year-old Richard Ranspot clipped a barbed wire fence shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday while crop dusting a field off FM 485.

The single engine, Cessna 188 AG Husky crashed.

Ranspot was airlifted to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan where he's listed in stable condition. According to a woman who works in the crop dusting industry, Ranspot suffered a punctured lung and multiple broken bones.

The plane was built in 1979 and is registered to Spot-Air LLC out of Burlington, about 30 miles east of Temple

The wife just got home from work and pulls this from the back of her car. Just in time for our granddaughter’s approaching 2nd Birthday.

And I have just been told it is staying HERE.

I seriously feel like I’m being haunted by this little guy as I chase intermittent electrical beacon issues around.......curses!

Dang thing working as designed

Then Bam! Solid Full On with no flash causing a heavy load on the electrical system.

Stuck on

Cleaning the parents filter from the water canal above their property. They are allocated a miner’s inch to the property.

Last time it was cleaned, a large crawdad came out.

There is a new train line that runs from West Palm Beach to Miami with a stop in Ft. Lauderdale. We decided to head down on impulse to go to a new science Museum in Miami.

Sadly, we have to drive 50 minutes to the train station. Hopefully we will get a stop where I live once they push up to Orlando.

It takes 70 minutes to travel by train to Miami from West Palm Beach.

So here are some pics of the contrast. These pics were taken literally 4 blocks apart. The fancy building is new, the crappy street is a leftover from the 80's Miami. Soon to disappear.

Here’s one, fellas:

I typically do not post family pics, but my daughter is pretty geeked out by the activities here this week:

Got to meet Tommy Emmanuel yesterday and then sat in a small group setting today - and played for him.

Also has been spending some time with John Knowles this week:

Pretty proud dad this week!

^^^Very awesome!!!^^^

Therapy session a couple weeks ago.
Our normal 3 nights boat camping, hiking, exploring on Ross followed by 2 nights in the resort was impacted by a poor estimate of snow pack and a lack of precipitation this spring rain resulting in all campsites being closed.

The lake just down hill was pretty full though, and I scored the premier campsite permit for 2 nights by showing up at the Ranger station at 7am the day prior to our trip (via 72 911 express).
Not quite a 2 hour drive and rarely any east bound traffic.

Best boat in campsite on the lake

Therapy in process

^^^where was that at??

Was able to make a couple of loops through the pattern....finally

First “shakedown” flight in just under 5 years. A bit unnerving of the unknown, even though everything was triple checked and rechecked. With this job put to bed, it’s now time to get cracking on the Targa.

Built a Stratux to use with an iPad. Now just need to determine the best aviation flight program to use. Foreflight, Garmin, FlyQ, etc... so many to choose from.

Guess I’m being strong armed into an updated iPad too. Since mine is outdated and no longer running the latest iOS.

I really like foreflight. But I’ve used it for 7 years so it would be hard for me to change at this point.
