For unknown reasons, Space Shuttle Discovery was assembled with extra black tiles at the edge of one windows. Compare the left and right of this photo. All other shuttles mirrored the same configuration on both sides.

The distinctive feature has informally become known as the "teardrop." It makes distinguishing Discovery from other shuttles easier.

Turbopalooza at CMP around 2010. It was a get together with a bunch of guys along the East Coast, who posted on the Pelican Turbo forum. My 930 is the black one.

I was at a PCA DE at Roebling Road a couple of weeks ago. There was one air cooled car. You just don’t see air cooled cars anymore, let alone air cooled 930’s.

Good times

The maroon 934 looking car got a flat on the way down to the track. I lent him my spare tear 12 inch wide Perelli slicks /wheels so he could run the track, and he still had three or 4 inches of fender well to fill. The good news is, he had a good track day.

Finally got some decent weather for a few days, I've been longing for another mountain based therapy session to augment the recent ocean based sessions, so off to Diablo I went again.
Spring runoff has wreaked havoc on the boat launch area, at least a couple feet of sand and rock covering the ramp. All but useless for power boat launching.
No problem though, kayaks can be launched from a multitude of places... I don't need no stinkin ramp.

This lake is always a striking color, it's feed by a multitude of glaciers and filled with silt/rock dust that reflects a crazy color at certain sun angles.

A rocky start for a wooden boat

Prime dock and campsite all to myself, love early season/mid week outings!

Walking to the top of Thunder Knob, nice open rock slabs with good northerly and southerly views

Sourdough mountain

Subway sandwich and a good cold beer, dinner with a view and slow light show, perfect!
I'm in no hurry

Amazingly warm for late April, I was down to a tee shirt until after sunset.
Got cold quick, mid 40's overnight. Opted to stay in the sleeping bag until 8 am when the sun hit the tent

Turned in early, set my alarm for 1AM, Aurora lights were predicted overnight so back up to the high point I went with my big camera and tripod- alas, no lights visible via eyeball or camera. Super quiet and peaceful out wandering around for an hour

Very rare to be in the middle of this lake early afternoon with no wind- usually has some impressive whitecaps racing through

Glad Mrs. Bugs is literally up and running!
Lots and lots of determination there.

Thanks Skip! Yeah, it been a long slog. Not the same person she was before the accident but heck, we will persevere. Just takes time and everyone reacts differently to head injuries and it’s definitely been a learning curve.

The lil guy is Fynn, thought he was the last……. At Christmas, we were advised by our oldest’s family, that they have another bun in the oven, their 3rd and and our 6th is due in July. An even split, 3 in CA and 3 in AZ.
