Wings 3 Blackhawks 2 in OT. Chris Osgood just stood on his head and stole that game.

What is with all of these two nights off between games. Please don't tell me that the NHL didn't want to compete with American Idiot.

My Canes can still do what they need to do: take a game in Pittsburgh. They have managed to take a game on the road in both rounds so far.

They just need to pick up where they left off Monday night. I just hope that Ruutu and Cole will be back soon.

Ruutu? Yes. Cole? Why? He has done nothing.

And Cole's injury looked serious.

Going to the game in Pitt tomorrow! My brother just called and said he got some tickets! Taking my son with me! GO PENS!!!!

I think it as an arena issue. The leagues preference is to have a game every other night.

Buckterrier 05-20-2009 03:30 PM

The Penquins, along with some other teams don't own their stadiums. In Pittsburgh's case Greenday is playing in Melon Arena therefore the two days off. Not sure about their new staduim they'll be playing in next year. I think it's city owned also.

GO PENS!!!!!

They give them an extra night when they change cities.

Cole's assist on the LaRose goal in Game 1 was big. The New Jersey and Boston Series are behind us. It's hard to ignore a guy that has been such an influence since rejoining the team. I agree, however, that Cole's injury did not look good. At best it will take some time to heal if nothing is torn.

Yeah heard that this afternoon.

They'd better start clearing out the crease in front of Fluery

Maybe we have seen someone that can stop the Hurricane party. 7-4 blowout on game two (which the canes have a habit of winning when they lost game 1)

Malkin is a great player.

And now he's showing it. That 3rd goal was scoring art.

When many facets of the game are played even between Pitt. and Car., the skills of a Malkin make the difference. He alone was what tipped the scales in Pittsburgh's favor. I'm not a big Crosby fan, but you can't take anything away from his skill set either. Crosby's only problem is that he's no Ovechkin, he knows that, and I think he wears that on his sleeve.

The Penguins have to come to our house now. Those Versus guys can get stuffed. The RBC Center can, and will, be the loudest house in the NHL. I will be there to contribute a few dB. Beyond that, its up to the Canes to dig a little deeper to find a solution to Pittsburgh's talent.

That's awesome you are going to the game. Good luck and have fun.
Not sure your point on the Crosby/Ovechkin comment. No he isn't an Ovechkin nor does he try to be. IMHO O is a strong physical player that has a rocket slapshot and obviously an awesome goal scorer. He also took over 150 more shots than any other player in the NHL this past season. Crosby on the other hand is a strong finesse player that is a playmaker and goal scorer. They are both excellent players with different styles.
What's the beef with the Versus dudes??

GothingNC 05-22-2009 06:56 AM

I have faith in the Canes.

Whenever they are pushed into a win or die situation they will find a way just like they did with the Devil's & Bruins in Game 7

Go Canes !

Super_Dave_D 05-22-2009 09:25 AM

I am a Canes fan but also a hockey fan and I found this goal amazing!!

Great game, but the goal tending has be less then stellar on both ends. Ward letting in 9 goals in two games? Whats up with that? I thought he was the difference. Pens in 5.:)

And know for the gratuitous cup photo with yours truly.

flatbutt 05-22-2009 10:30 AM

you know you shouldn't be holding that over your head. Oh thats my Forte over there!

Heck of a backhand from Malkin last night wasn't it? Ward should have had it but a heck of a shot any way.
