I don't need the whole bracket.

Penguins all the way!

Lame. You only prove you are a fan of one time as opposed to the great game of hockey. The Pens are surely a favorite but how about all the others? Step up and tell us what you know rather than what you want.

I have been a fan of the game for a long time--not just one team. Besides the Pens, I was cheering for the Whalers, Nordiques, and yes even the Bruins--(sported CCM Bruins and Oilers sweaters back in HS.) And, even though I have always hated the Caps, I rooted for Al Iafrate (sp?.) as an individual because he was one of the last to forgo a helmet, had about an ugly mug as one could want, and a wicked shot.

I am a fan of the game, but don't need to prove that by filling in a bracket and I will reiterate--Penguins all the way!

Por_sha911 04-12-2017 10:39 AM

Just to clarify, the website says you can create a bracket after the 10th but cannot place your picks after 6:59 est today.

Thanks to all that replied to my PM.

I have zero interest in betting but love the game (as Eric stated) and yes, I am a loyal fan of one team since the 60's.

Eric: A fan of the game (as opposed to one team) would have some opinion about the other teams and matchups but that said, I was hoping to be an agitator and get you to setup a bracket.

There's still time. 30 minutes to go

Looks like the site is down. I can't open it up and have been trying for an hour or so.

They are in the process of emptying the bank account of those who register earlier :D:D:D

Buck: They lock it once the playoffs start at 7pm EST. If you want to create one manually we can calculate the points.
JJ: I don't know what happened with you. I didn't set up my brackets until late yesterday 4/11 and I opened it up earlier today so I know I could still edit it. That said, I'm glad you're playing.

In the meantime, here is what came out of my NHL crystal ball:

Not a good start for the Hab's but I'm glad that the Bruins came back.

Can wait until they meet, meanwhile enjoy:

Same here. The game is what matters. To each his own.

Dump the puck in, never recover it. Check.

Use Pacioretty as the passer on the PP and Andrew Shaw as the shooter. Check.

Genius.

dang I was too late to get in but I'll make my own predictions and post them.

trader220 04-13-2017 08:58 AM

Sorry I was just too busy to get my picks in. Like others... I am a fan of the game. My team didn't qualify for the post season tourney so I don't have a horse in this race. Hell I have been playing the game for 40 plus years, at 52 I still play twice a week.

Just looking forward to some good hockey. Glad to see the Oilers back in the post season. McDavid is a fun player to watch, and he's going to get better and better.

If I had to pick I think its the Duck's vs. the Cap's in the finals. If that happens then my guess is the Caps. I don't study all the teams and match ups. I just love watching the big tourney for all the really good hockey.

Jim Horton 04-13-2017 09:33 AM

I missed the cutoff, as well. I will post my picks separately

Hawkeye's-911T 04-13-2017 10:28 AM

Hey 1990

Iafrate had a set of wheels to go with that shot - at least he was fast in a straight line. Hard not to include the Hawks in the cup final & as I have mentioned previously - this is it for the Caps. The Oinkers vs. the Hosers looks to be an interesting series as will the Flames & the Ducks - for some of us westerners. Sorry Joe - missed the cut-off.

Cheers
JB

Iafrate was a nut job. He showered with his helmet on.

He was also arrested for throwing rocks at a street light after he was drafted.

But he could play.

The odds of Ovechkin winning the World Championship this year are about 100X higher than the odds of him hoisting the Stanley Cup.

Por_sha911 04-13-2017 07:48 PM

Even though most all who post here love the game, only some are willing to put their opinions out on the line by predicting what will happen. That said, its always good to have a verbal scrum up against the boards of Pelican.

So who would have thought that the visitors would be taking game one all over the place? I am certainly rooting for the Preds (even though my bracket shows the Hawks taking the first round) since I think they will be much easier to beat in the finals.

I would love to see you guys who missed the cutoff show us what you predict for the brackets since it is fun to trash talk each round.

Oh BTW, did you see who had the winning goal in game one with the Bruins and the Sens? :D

flatbutt 04-13-2017 10:23 PM

Was it what's his name...The one with the big nose... Oh heck what is his name?
