With WSH as Stanley Cup champs...though this is not what I would wish. |
So far the Pens are right back where they left off last year. They simply terrorized the Jackets in the 3rd period last night. Then the goonery started. There won't be a suspension but super cheap shot then the second. Columbus can take the cheap shots the Pens will take the goals.
Oh & what about Fleury? Would that be redemption or what... dang |

What an incredible Habs/Rangers game last night. Lundqvist played Cup winning hockey all the way. I am torn between wants the Habs to lose versus seeing my bracket prediction come true. I think I'd take the hit to the bracket but, since I predicted 6 games it looks like I am on track.
The Pens will take the first round. Hopefully they will have a few bumps and bruises along the way. The only game I care about in the West is the Preds/Hawks. Rooting for the Preds since they'll be easier to beat in the finals than the Hawks. The only way the Pred and Rangers will get into the 2nd round is if King Henry and Rinne play the best hockey of their life. So far, Henry is doing his part: 54 saves last night and a bunch were highlight reel saves! They only thing that confuses me is why did he lose his stick so much? |
Don't know about the stick but he sure gave up some juicy rebounds!
|
You will have to expect a few bad rebounds with 54 saves (and some of them awesome highlight reel saves).
In the meantime, looks like the Sens are not up to the task for this year. Even with the B's missing 4 defensemen (2 of the them 1st and 2nd line) they aren't scoring. Well, I hit enter after typing the above sentence and the Sens score two goals. I ain't saying nothin no mo. |

Later when I went back, Fuch... its now 3-3. Not to worry I think the Sen's will not past the Bruins :D:):D |
I've never been a fan of Trawna - but last night's game was pretty good. The Caps should prevail but the Leafs are giving them a run for their money. Hope it goes to 7 games - if yesterday was any indication of what's ahead.
Cheers JB |
Wow what a night of hockey last night. St. Louis, Edmonton. I have the Oilers going to the Western Conference finals. Then there are the Pens. Three games, three wins, 'nough said other than one more win needed in this series.
Does anyone other than Joe, (because he might hate him), not want Zach Werenski on your team? At 19 he is a hockey warrior. It was Rocky answering the bell against Apollo, ("Cut me Mick, cut me"), but Rocky didn't end up with facial fractures. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1492471286.jpg Bonino of the Penguins also got hit in the face with a puck but nothing like the Columbus defenseman. |

Got to love hockey players. "I can still see. Can I go back in coach?" |
Go Leafs!
|
Bruins got a raw deal tonight. Should have been matching minors when a Bruins gets a shot directly to the head and retaliates with a punch. Powerplay yields Otawa the winning goal. Rant over
|
9 times outa 10 he who retaliates is the one sent to the bin. Ain't right but it is the way of it.

I am somewhat conflicted about the way things are going.
Although it would KILL my bracket on the West, I would love to see the Preds in the finals for several reasons: a) They'll be easier to beat b) I don't think the Hawks are all that and a bag of chips. They have some future hall of famers but I don't think that they deserved to have 2 of the 3 that were named to the NHL all time greatest 100 players. Better players (active and retired) were passed over because the Hawks won 3 of the last 6 years. I wish they had only retired players in the list but, since active players are named, then Cindy does deserve to be named in the top 100 because of his skills. Finally, c) If the Bruins and Preds go to the finals (a long shot I know) I get a free ticket.:D Next come the Habs/Rangers. Who do I hate more? I would have to say the Habs. After all, I am a Bruins fan and that's what we do. If the Bs aren't in the final I would like to see King Henry win the big prize and his chances go down each year he gets older. That said, Bruins have no love for the Rangers either. Oh, and my bracket says the Habs move to the next round. GREAT hockey being played by both teams. A real treat to watch. Caps/Toronto: Trots is a great coach and Ovi is a real mensch. He's bought into being a team player and I'd like to see him beat the curse but not against Boston. Pens/Blue Jackets: No conflict here. (surprised?) I would gladly have the East side of my bracket ruined to see the Pens playing golf later this month. Unfortunately the Blue Jackets are a long shot. |
