I think my Devils will hang on to take game 7. Caps will outlast the rangers, then go on to eviscerate NJD.

Por_sha911 04-27-2009 04:12 PM

The caps have found a blind spot on King Henry: glove side up high. I pointed it out to my wife (you gotta love a woman that loves hockey and doesn't mind my affair with the Carrera!) and then the commentators talked about it during break. Unless Henry closes the holes in his game, the Rangers are toast.
BTW did anyone get the license plate on the truck that ran over Blair Betts? Six game suspension for Brashear for the cheap shot!

Porsche_monkey 04-27-2009 04:15 PM

Unfortunately that suspension helps the Caps. The league should force Brashear to play 20 minutes per game if they really want to punish the team.

Por_sha911 04-29-2009 05:45 PM

I think that when the infraction is that malicious, they should suspend the offender until the injured person is able to play again.
Well, I was wrong, the Rangers lost and the Canes won! Who'd of thunk it?
I still think the finals will be Wings and Bruins.

Then when a good player hurts a *****ty play, the *****ty player will never play again...just to keep the other teams good player off the ice.

Good point but you would never see top notch players making goon moves like Brashear. When Donald is sent to the ice its for only one reason: someone will get hurt and a message has been sent. Terrible Ted and Gordy were tough characters but they still played some fantastic hockey. The key is how malicious is the intent of the injury.

Who won the game tonight?
Thanks.

No one played, (NHL hockey that is ;) ). Chicago and Vancouver play this evening. Washington/Pittsburgh will be an excellent series along with the 2 western conference series. I think Boston will blowout Carloina.

Lets see if that is true after Washington and Pittsburgh finish their series.

And there are lots of skill players with an 'edge' that will make dirty hits from time to time. But not every shift like that idiot Brashear. He is a moron. And so is the coach that puts him on the ice. Thankfully those idiots are slowly becoming extinct.

Do not underestimate the team or Cam Ward. Carolina playing with a sense of purpose for Paul Maurice. I still think Boston will win, they are the better team overall. But don't expect four easy games. The Bruins have their hands full. And the girls team they knocked out in the first round did not prepare them for what they are about to see.

If Eric Cole can get his head out of his *&# Carolina could make this interesting.

Ha Thanks Mark!
That would explain why I couldn't find out the results.
Ha, ha. I'm such a die hard fan ;)

One of my best buddies is a die hard Canucks fan, we're hoping they go all the way this year! Maybe I'll take the game in tonight at a pub somewhere?

Cheers winner!

Buckterrier 05-03-2009 06:32 AM

Well the Caps took one. And what a save on Crosby. 21 year old goalie. Even though he's the enemy I love seeing a kid coming up & doing something like that.
And it looks like the Blackhawks & Canucks's series is going to be a good one. The Bruins, as I figured are kicking arse & taking names.

89911 05-03-2009 08:23 AM

Pittsburgh has won 6 out of 7 playoff series against the Caps and only won game one once. Even if they come out of Washington down 2-0, I wouldn't expect any panic.:D

Por_sha911 05-03-2009 04:32 PM

The Wings lost the first one of the last 6. Both teams played well. I think they'll still take the series and move to the next round. I sure would like the Bruins to sweep again.

Cam Ward made sure that didn't happen! He looked awesome!! Now on to Calolina!

flatbutt 05-04-2009 07:38 AM

Ward was impressive yesterday for sure. And I am impressed with Hiller. I've always coached keepers to be stand up and use the butterfly as one tool, but Hiller sure makes it work for him.

Por_sha911 05-04-2009 10:12 AM

Cam Ward was in the zone and the Bruins looked flat. I think they got complacent and thought they could just cruise to the final. I hope last night was a wakeup call.

Home ice advantage - Carolina

It might be tied 1 - 1, but Carolina is leading this series. They can find ways to win.

With seven players at 40 or more points, their next goal could come from anyone, including defensemen. If gms 3 and 4 go the Carolina, Boston is dun. If a split, it will go 7.

Por_sha911 05-06-2009 08:09 PM

The Bruins are blowing it big-time. They are in a must win situation or the Canes will have so much momentum that Boston will be toast. :(
On the other hand, the Pens and Caps put on quite a show tonight.
