The last twister we had close by a few years ago threw the motorcycle trailer 75' down the driveway and through the garage door (it hit the truck but not the 911) and threw the yard furniture a different direction across the county road into the bean field. It also took some of the metal soffit from the house and wrapped it around the maple tree in the back yard. It was pretty easy to find the furniture since all the crops around were laid out flat. We had no warning except the sound of heavy wind all the sudden and a trailer entering the house.
I am guessing Joe is doing this out of the kindness of his heart. It could be he just needs to break in the new pointy toy.

In this part of the country the TV stations have more advanced radar that the National Weather service down in Norman, OK. All three of the major stations go to constant coverage and the cell phones go nuts with warnings.
The conditions for the storms that hit last Wednesday were forecast days in advance. The day before they were saying what time the storms would be here and conditions were ripe. They were right to within 30 minutes.

Hah! Nurse standing next to me has a HS-aged daughter who is texting her friends April Fools texts. She sent one just now to the effect of "hey, can you get me some weed for this weekend?"
Apparently she meant to text a friend, but sent it to her mom instead. "Whoops, wrong person" was the daughter's next text. |

My son is a year round swimmer. I had to get him a new order of speedos and I had guys speedo ads for months on my screen. Ugh...

Interesting. 3 teen girls came by and offered to mow my yard. I've already promised my nieces boys they could take care of my yard this year. Did find that sqealing teenage girls get Pepper so excited she pees herself.
Several years ago it was one cute neighborhood teen girl. She showed up with all the boys in the neighborhood as her crew, LOL. Only took them like 10 minutes. They did my yard for 3 years. Her crew fell apart when she went to college. I didn't stop mowing lawns till AFTER getting out of college and getting a real job (that paid less and took more time). Sometime think if I would have gotten my degree in business administration, learned spanish, and kept mowing lawns I would already be retired.
