The 928 National owners club GTG has held it at some pretty hot places during the hot part of the summer. The hold it in a big convention center they can fit all the cars and seats for the owners/attendees. I know 80 cars is small for a parade, but it is still a fun group.

I got second place overall. One of the demonstrations was a supercharger install.

Yea, this year was over 1,000 registered memberships. Few places can handle a meal for 1,500 or so.

That reminds me of going to a huge multi-media creation conference in the Moscone Center in San Franciso CA. They also were holding a huge Autocad conference. There were easily 2000 people there at both. And they profided 3 meals a day if you wanted to eat at the conference. Most people did because it was done so well and was really good.

I got there the night before and ran around with my friend that worked at Apple at the time. We basically went thru all the show booths for both conferences while they were setting up. It was really funny because everyone that had some kind of graphics manipulation showed me the night before. During the show they were all using an image of ME. I was EVERYEHERE, ha ha haaa!

My wife has gone to some HUGE conferences. The ones for education specific software call Banner, had about 7,000 attendees. Some place like Vegas and New Orleans had that and several other conferences going on with no issues. I can't see Parade ever going to Vegas. The folks in New Orleans keep lobbying for it, so far the answer is a big NO for some reason.

Places like Jay Peak wer nice as far as the rooms, but PCA had to put up a GIANT circus size tent to have some of the meals.

The most basic description of a dog is the ultimate parasite of humans. We provide a comfortable climate controlled place to live, unlimited food and free medical care for them. All they have to do is eat and sleep in our house and lay in our lap.

Back when I ran the firewall we had someone report that a night shift worker was surfing porn.

was asked to keeps logs on the firewall so they could catch him red handed, so to speak. Found the one guy that got reported was the least of the porn surfing offenders.

My first dog earned her keep. She woke me up every morning after the paper was delivered. i let her out and she fetched our newspaper. No matter the weather. Now I don't take the paper.

She would also fetch beers from an ice chest. Pretty valuable on a hot day when getting up to get a beer will cost your seat in the shade.

At my old house the paper was basically delivered to our driveway next to the street. Pepper fetched the paper every morning, waking me up as soon as it was delivered (5-6am) so she could fetch it.

Noticed the neighbor next door, and the two neighbors across the street also took the paper. For fun had Penny get their papers and put them on their front porch in front of their door. Every morning I would let her out and she would do her little paper route. Honestly Penny was really smart. Only had to talk her thru it on the first house, then just tell her on the other two. Then reminder her to deliver the other papers the next time she went out to get the paper.

After about a month I ran into one of those neighbors and asked if they noticed their paper was being delivered to their front porch instead of their driveway. They said they had. Asked them if it was worth anything, maybe some dog treats or something because it was Penny taking it to their door. Didn't believe my dog was delivering their paper and were not going to give her any treats.

Went to the other two neighbors and asked them same thing with similar results. If any of them had believed she was putting their paper on their porch I would have kept her doing it. If they didn't appreciate it I wasn't gong to waste Penny's time. Told them if they wanted their paper delivered to their front porch to just bring me some dog treats and stopped Pepper's little paper route.

A couple of times after that when I let Penny out to get the paper she would pick up the paper, look towards next door then back a me wagging her tail. She was looking at a neighbor all robed up and traipsing out to get their paper at the end of their driveway. Called Penny, waved at the neighbor saying good morning while Penny happy brought me my paper. Neighbor did not wave back. Must not be morning people or hadn't had enough coffee yet. Never got any dog treats for front door paper delivery service from any of them either.

Still miss that dog. Moment of silence please.

We had a mutt dog that was a pretty cool dog in Hawaii when we lived in Pearl City. He would fetch the paper for dad. I was in first grade and did not read the paper much.

The dog was named Bullet because he could run so fast. He loved our paperboy and would run along side of him for a few blocks as he threw papers. When we got transferred to Texas, we gave him to the paper boy and left him in Hawaii. (The dog not the paperboy)

Why would you not leave the paperboy in Hawaii?

We have never had anything spilled on anything here. At least when you talk to staff nothing has. When you have a report of sticky keys and coke runs out of the keyboard you have to wonder how it got there if nothing is ever spilled.

Both our dogs are special. Like short bus candidate special.

OK, the dog and the paperboy were left behind!

Golly playing office nerd-bookkeeper-file clerk is fun, NOT.

The airport where we keep our 182 in the hangar for some reason wants to bill us for the hangar, and the fuel we need. IRS rules are simple, if we spend more than $600 per year with them and they are NOT a corporation, we need a form W-9. So any LLC, or partnership, or independent contractor, we have to have have a W9 or the IRS gets really pissed. They are draconian in the penalties. So I get to chase down W9s from vendors. Some are super easy, just call and they send them over. The worst is the larger places with a lot of layers to wade through to ever get to talk to the boss, or the accounting department. Once I get to that level, it is easy.

We get a weekly little paper that is always bagged. Tried to train Camber to fetch it so I could throw it away. When she picks it up, she shakes it like crazy scattering paper everywhere. Decided that was not something I wanted to train her to do.

When I bring groceries in from the car, Pepper gets to bring her treats in while I am toting the sacks.
