It was more of a drive-by post but thanks for the welcome.

I'm working at Motivo Engineering which I really enjoy. I'd say it's better than the "real" (boring) world of automotive engineering. In my free time I'm designing/building a girder fork for (one of) my mountainbike(s). Hiking and mountainbiking have still been my main hobbies and now I'm learning guitar so I've been staying busy. Still driving the 911 every month or so. Not married or engaged yet, but have been having some luck with dating.

That is pretty close, though I much prefer the drive to Monterey over driving east into the desert. I might go if I find someone that wants to go with.

Good to hear from ya Max. I was saddened to hear of the loss of your dad. I sure miss my dad, I know you miss yours.

I figured you would find a job you liked, and could have fun at.

It is amazing to me to see the ways products are engineered and made now with 3D modeling and printing. The aerial camera system we use is 100% engineered and put together with components on the market, and integrated to work together with custom software, and circuit boards, all inside of a 3D printed pod. It can do things that our old top of the "state of the art" Lieca Wild film camera that cost $490,000 could never dream of accomplishing. The old camera was 500 pounds in the shipping boxes. The new one will fit in the airline overhead luggage compartment.

Hey you went to the Monterey Parade. It was with no doubt the coldest Porsche Parade ever. You need to come to the Palm Springs parade, it will likely break the Savannah, GA parade record as the hottest Parade ever. It will be close in heat. The heat index in Savannah one day was 135. The actual temp in Palm Springs is likely to be 115. If there is any humidity, it will break that Savanna record.

Good day in writing invoices to clients. I still had to do a bunch of ciphering and counting on fingers and toes and doing gozintas (goes into) and cogitating. I did not have to drop my shorts so nothing over 20. Somehow it is almost fun writing up an invoice that will get set to clients and then wait for them to decide to pay it someday if not too inconvenient.

One project I invoiced for a bunch of work in Montana, and my business partner is going to go fly a project in south Florida over the weekend. We are not prejudiced at all, we will take anyone's money, fly in any state if the client offers to pay the price we quote. We don't do jobs as hobbies, or for practice. We are money grubbing low life capitalists.

I get up at 7:15 and feed the dogs and myself. I read the on line version of the local paper, and drink my coffee until 8:15 to 8:30. Today I did not put on shoes until 1:00 PM to go approve a test print for a big print order we have.

My commute is 14 steps down the hall, and heavy traffic is the dogs in the hall. I kiss my wife "off to work" and mosey down the hall.

If the weather holds and we can get in the air in a safe manner, I will have to go to the airport on Saturday to help a new contractor pilot fly a little project we have going. If the storms arrive, no flying.

Most days I eat a sandwich I make and take 15 to 20 minutes to make it and eat it. On Tuesdays I meet Richard for lunch.

My big "first world problem" is that my socks are wearing out really fast. Walking around the house with no shoes, and just socks on my feet they were out pretty fast. And yes, I am "dressed up" in my business attire, shorts, and a t-shirt, not just in socks. Many days I never leave the property.

I often have my computer working days on end churning on a project. I will check on it, or run over to my business partner's place to use one of our 7 computers he has there. I only have three here.

I make many different types. Mostly ham or turkey cause they are easy.

I may have to get some chunky peanut butter and honey next time we go to the store.

As a veteran work from home guy I got some slip on house shoes. Just to save on socks. And no they are not crocks. They do have flames on them though.

LOL the only time I ever tie a shoe is if the laces come un-tied.
I usually keep em looose enough that I can wear em like slip-ons.

Wear lace up hiking boots to protect my feet when outside. A nail going thru my shoes and into the ball of my foot is what gave me a MRSA infection that caused my diabetic problems.

I am gonna start looking for another motherboard, CPU and lots and lots of RAM. 128 Gig is minimum I will accept. I will want to find a motherboard that goes to a TB of RAM. Likely I will stop at 512 Gig on initial build.

Right now there are two different projects that my computer with just 32 gig of ram just pukes, and quits. We have to use the computers at my partner's house. Either the 18 with 64 Gig, or the i7 with 128 gig to get the projects to run. My partner is just a mile away, but there is just something weird about going to his office room and sitting in that room to work. I prefer to work from home.
