Get off my lawn!

Greatness and Goodness?
I am very humble and modest as well. One of the joys of owning an aircraft. We have a Lycoming fuel injected engine in our 182. Every 100 hours of engine time the FAA has mandated that we have a certified A&P mechanic come and LOOK at the engine, and sign the log book. That is is it, just look at it to see if there are any fuel leaks. Like we are not smart enough to notice a fuel leak. Of course it ain't leaking, and all is fine, but we get to pay a pro to come look. Really! We "get" to pay for the 5 minutes it takes to take the engine cowling off, and then his careful gaze, then put the cowling back on.

At least the 100hr inspection isn't like the annual!
Sid, a couple years ago there was a thread on RC Groups with a bunch of record holders of all different sizes. One was not much bigger than a human hand. I don't know how you would make small corrections on something like that at those speeds. I would probably do three aileron rolls trying to make a 1* course correction.

We just finished the annual a few months ago. He had the interior totally stripped out, just to get to the inspection panels. Every panel gets removed and the interior inspected, and mostly looking to see the cables and pullies are all in good order and lubed. No corrosion and nothing wrong with any interior panel.
Yea, Grumpy and Gruff might work.

I went outside to put away the recycling bin that finally got picked up. Walking through the flower beds in the front the Monarch butterflies were in force. They were flying around so it was hard to count but at least 10 of them. As several other types of butterflies.

There is no "G" in Macan or silver. How does that work?

It is the wife's car!
My name is on the title along with her, so in reality I am a part owner. And she is the wild radical in the family. It is a white car obviously, but it has a tan interior! About the only time I claim it as mine is if someone asks how many Porsches I own.

Nope, it is a metallic white.
One of my buddies outlaw 356. It has a hot rod 356 engine in it, AC and set up for fun track days.

After driving one at Hallet I was amazed at how well it really handled. I have take a few on ramps in a well, um faster than most manner. But I did not want to push hard with the curbs right there. On the track, in their car, their tires, and their gas, I had more fun. It was pretty quick. And one thing for sure, as a Porsche it will not roll over if it get yanked around a obstacle on the highway. Lots of SUVs would play like a dog wanting it's belly rubbed.

Hey, she laid out the brick work there. The sidewalk was there, so we had to build the rock wall, and fill it with soil. The sidewalk curves, and that is where the curve and the stones meet up. That one stone moves easily. It needs some mortar or something but the wall is a dry stack wall, and no mortar.

It ain't an excuse, it is the reason. I guess we could rig up some small gravel under the far edge to make the transition more level.
![]() It is a "dry stack" wall. No mortar, and that is two full pickup truck loads of soil, and a bunch of compost and mulch to fill up the slope of the yard. We burried some concrete blocks and drove rods through them to help hold things in place. After three years, it sill is solid. Just that one brick is the transition from the curved sidewalk that the home builder put in. When we first moved in I had to mow all of that flower garden area, and it was just grass. The area close to the house was the first to get converted to flower bad, and then the brick wall area was dug out , and we made it. We were too cheap to have a pro do it, so we did did it. We did have the pallet of stones delivered. It would take 10 or 15 trips in the El Camino to haul that heavy load. This is after digging up the sod, and getting the yard sprinklers moved out from the garden area. We put in drip irrigation for the flower bed. Early after the first planting before it grew much at all.
