Well, the smoke will eventually go away, right?

Yea, someone was in for a bad day. It always astonishes me how clueless some people are.

One guy I worked with had a front tire come off of his VW. I know it was making a lot of racket for months with loose lug nuts. And when it got down to the last of them before they broke off from the abuse it had to sound like a washing machine full of gravel.

I have been in a hurry and forgot to torque down the lug nuts and driven away. Before I got to the end of the driveway I knew I was a moron, went right back in to the garage and torqued the lugs.

Now I lay the torque wrench in the driver seat as I start a project so I can't forget to torque them.

We had a relaxed weekend. One of our long time couple friends had a non-funeral for the wife. She died of Alzheimer's, so she really has been "gone" for several years. She was a lady that was as shy as life long politician. She could talk to anyone, and was the president of the local Mercedes club for several years. She was a remarkable lady, and she is missed by many people.

Her husband is my pharmacist, and he is a long time PCA member. Many of the former PCA members showed up and it was like a reunion of people I had not seen in years.

The F1 race was great. Exciting finish. I am real glad I did not go in person as part of the 400,000 other people there.

Yeah we will probably have a grave side funeral in the spring. The MIL's ashes will be buried with her mom and father in the family plot in Bend.

We had some strong wind and about an inch of rain Sunday. So much for having company over for a camp fire and roasting food.

We are expecting a thunderstorm and strong winds tonight about 3:00 AM. I will likely sleep through it.

Just a glorious fall day here. 51 degrees this morning and 73 degrees at 3:00 PM. I love it.

I missed all of yesterday's "bomb cyclone" rain. Well almost all of it. It rained a bit during the morning commute. Then I emerged from the office 9.5 hours later and it was sunny. But holy smokes it was coming down in buckets for the 9er's game Sunday night, as well as at the Seahawks' game last night. And now it's predicted to be back in the 80's by tomorrow.

We should approach 60* by the weekend. Very windy right now though.

David, your storm rolled through last night just after midnight. Lots of lightning and thunder and 0.56 inches of rain.

No damage here.

The winds started up yesterday evening. Today they really get going. 50 to 60 MPH winds with possible gusts to 75.

I feel sorry for all the truckers, RVs and folks in a U-haul driving on the highway. It is gonna suck to be in a big rig today. It was almost funny how little winds affected my old 914. It was low to the ground, mid engined, and winds had almost no affect on it. In the days of CB radios I would hear the truckers all cussing the winds, and I could cruise along with one finger on the steering wheel even when overtaking a 18 wheeler.

Morning all. Back to work for me. Not that yesterday was not work. I had the fun of taking the grand kid to the doctor. Five shots later he was a tad upset.

The wind has little effect on the Cobra. Probably because of the relatively large tires on a little car.

Been hanging shelves in a back room in the basement to help with the clutter after bringing a bunch from my brother in law. Dad has an old Bosch high speed hammer drill and it does wonders drilling into concrete to put the Tapcons or anchors in. Of course I used my shooting muffs now, as opposed to when I used to work with dad drilling in concrete floors with said drill. Probably part of the reason I hear jet engines idling in my head when it is quiet.

There were some 54 MPH wind gusts yesterday. A bit breezy. No damage around here, but skinny people have to carry rocks in their pockets. I don't have that problem.

There was a large low sitting on top of St. Louis area, and we were on the back side of the rotation.

It moves out for the eekend and we get great weather for the weekend. The Trick or Treaters will be happy with the weather.

trick or treaters? What are those? In the past few years the kid train on 10/31 has dwindled to none. Which is good and bad. Good I don't have to hop up every 5 min and bad the grand kid is going miss out. He's one so I don't think he will remember......
