Great photos, the opposite of enduring the roofers.
Lava flow? Was this over in Hawaii?
Happy landing on your next trip.

Maui is a neat island. It is cool how different it is from the big island and the other islands.

I just got 4 emails from the Parade hotel. Somehow they decided I needed two rooms, one had a balcony and was "only" $307 per night plus fees and taxes. I fell sure we have it figured out that we get just one room for 1/2 that amount.

It was fun to do the NW side. We have take a tour on the road to Hana before. The road on the NW side is fully paved but two sections are one lane. Driver going down hill are supposed to back up to the first wide spot so the cars can pass. Try telling that to the other tourists. One corner made the wife nervous. Its a complete 180 degree corner with at least 5 to 6 feet of elevation change at the same time.

We made it 10.5 hours of driving. The first 1.5 hours was in rain with threats of severe. We dodged the bad pooling. Another 9 hour day tomorrow to get to Gettysburg.

Stijn!!

Today was the first time in my life I ever pumped over $80 in gas in my car at one stop.

I suspect as I get closer to Yankee land, I will beat that.

I do remember the fist time I had to pay THREE whole dollars for a FULL tank of gas that was pumped in for me, as he washed the windshield, checked the oil, tire pressures, gave me green stamps for my mom, and asked about the family. Times havdd we changed.

Both fill-ups were for an rear engine Air Cooled car of course.

Unloading the luggage this year. And the tools and car was stuff is still in the car.

The African elephant is the mascot of the hotel. So the towel is folded to look like a Elephant.

We are in the north wing, it is a easy mile to get to the conference center. We will likely drive over.

We had rain a few days this week and some perfect days. Unfortunately I was cleaning carbs on the bikes. The daughter's I had drained the tank again and still had to pull it apart three times. At least that is an easy one. My dual sport has a dual intake system similar to a 4bbl carb and was leaking in the overflow. Turns out the float was stuck, like I had to pry hard with a screwdriver stuck. Polished the valve with some Eagle 1 Never Dull. It is now very clean, and very shiny. Took both up to get gas. They have ethanol free here, but it is the 92 octane fuel, which my bike takes anyway. I used to fill the car for the same price.

Glen and David, have fun.

Ted, good luck!

My wife is pretty understanding, so much so she bought her own dual sport last spring!

Phew. If you look at the far right of the photo, the tower or protrusion is the stairwell. Our room is just 30 steps further away than that stairwell. The other end of the photo is the convention center. The far left is the room they used for registration. 1.1 miles if we walk indoors.

If I cut across the parking lot outdoors, it is just .9 mile.

We got registered, then ate lunch in town. I came back and tried to drive over to the convention area, but there is not one space open. So I drove back to my side, and walked over to check out the goodie store. Over 2.5 miles walked today, and dinner is waaaaay over back in the convention center.

I walk about 2 miles when I mow and edge the yard. So almost a mowing day so far, and more yet to come.

We walked the concours. As always lots of nice cars.

Now I am off to finally wash my car. The rain yesterday stopped me from washing it then.

I washed off about 10 pounds of dead insects. It is a white car again.
