207.0 A major breakthrough! Post-op activity, portion control, less/no snacking.

157. The wife watched Forks over Knives. She wants us to go vegan. I told her fine as long as vegan means I can eat a steak once in a while. She've been cooking all kinds of vegan stuff though, and most of it is pretty good, and I've dropped 4 pounds in 9 days!

Good for you, jyl! I'm hoping to do the same with 200 soon.

Interesting experience. Went to doctor for annual physical. Compared to previous years, my blood pressure is much better (102/50), cholesterol is normal (HDL could be higher), blood sugar normal (had been borderline pre-diabetic). I'm going to try coming off some meds, one at a time with blood work retests every 3-4 months. So, a tangible medical benefit is starting to emerge from this weight loss. I need to get down at least another 10 lb, and do more exercise.

I've started measuring my body fat, and I have a lot more that I can, and should, lose. Carrying 44 lb of body fat! Admittedly about 10 lb is about the minimum consistent with being alive longterm, that is still 34 lb I can take a whack at.

The cool thing, in a way, is that getting my labs back to normal hasn't required me to become particularly fit. At 180 lb I'm still on the borderline of normal and obese per the BMI charts. My body fat is still high, about 24%. I barely do any cardio exercise, a bit of swimming and a bit of bicycling. I am basically pretty "unfit" and I'm nearly 5-0. Yet, according to the doc visit, even getting to here has made a big difference. Makes me wonder that might happen when I actually get fit.

205 Wow! Two pounds in a week! My clothes are beginning to fit a lot better, and that is pretty good motivation.

Mostly portion control, fewer snacks, and I don't eat crap (as much). The first few days after my rotator cuff rebuild, I had less of an appetite, and I have been able to carry that forward.

207.2 Had company all week-end. Portion control got forgotten, and two extra desserts didn't help. Since I enjoy the way my clothes, esp. trousers, fit at 205, I am motivated to get back on track.

I'm kind of "stuck" at 181 lb. Trying to figure out how to get unstuck.

I have lost motivation this last year. I lost my job and found a new job but lost my mojo. I put on 20 lbs in the last year. I need to get back on track and I will need some help from a few of you. I need to curb my control. I was a Lifer with Weight Watchers but have fallen off the wagon. I still go to meetings but do not get much out of them now. Need to find my mojo again. My plan is to start tracking again. Watch what I eat and improve on activity. I start tomorrow on a training program to run 1/2 marathon in 6 months. (planned training: Tues/Thurs/Sat) I usually just walk the marathons.

My current weight: 152 lbs
My planned weight by October 10, 2012 is: 132 lbs

My before picture:

After picture will be posted October 10, 2012.

Wish me luck!

69" tall....no, really! I hit 228 a few months ago and got back down to 212 and was feeling much better but now I'm climbing again and weighed in at 219 this morning. I haven't ate much today but still feel bloated. My main problem is eating before going to bed but man, just hate a growling stomach at night lol

Good luck, Kim. You're committed so don't let us down. My first tip: don't go on cruises. Second tip: walk a couple miles TODAY - don't wait until tomorrow. Report back.

To anyone trying to lose weight, I wish you nothing but success. I've never been heavy in my life but did manage to put on 10 unnecessary lbs. in the last year.

I used to keep a gallon of water on my desk at all times, when I felt hungry, I'd drink water. The second that I started traveling nonstop, I began to snack.

Now, I just try to carry water with me at all times and I've lost about 6 lbs.
