Plugged a couple of roof vents in garage area to stop blow-in. Others were too far in and covered by radiant barrier.

all the local news stations have their people reporting from the coasts..... no one here so they're relying on traffic cams.....
1/2 hour and the eye wall is here.... getting pretty brutal out.... still have power.... but I'm in a newer area off s i-drive so everything is underground.....

Lost power here for 4-5 hrs during the night, is on now though water is out. Main breaks somewhere they say. Some trees down in the hood and lost some shingles. No flooding here, I figure we got about 8" since yesterday. Surprised direct tv was good through most of this. Hope everyone is doing well out there.

never lost power or water, the advantages of living on the tourist grid next to Disney and everything being under ground. tons of debris and lost some trees....... but all good

FL got soooooooo-per lucky on this one. Firstly because the hurricane's interaction with Cuba knocked out some of its power and secondly because the turn northward came later than expected. I know, no consolation for those who got the brunt of it or suffered damage / loss but overall this thing had the potential to be a LOT worse. I hope it's a wake-up call to the people in charge of emergency planning that actually having a workable plan (like ensuring people can actually leave, have access to fuel, places to stay, highways that aren't completely clogged for hours, etc.) for millions of people is a requirement now, particularly as sea levels and temperatures rise and populations tend to congregate near the coasts in coming years...
Glad it's (mostly) over and hope most people end up coming home to relatively minor damage.

Glad you guys are making it through with only minor impacts. I'm connecting through ATL now and it's just moderate wind and rain. Sounds like it will get heavier this afternoon.

Because of flooding, I can't get out of the neighborhood (Well I could, but don't want to be "That guy" as the wake would go into some homes) and county still under curtew
![]() Two of my favorite places got pretty bad water damage (lower deck gone without a trace) And flooded. ![]() ![]() ![]()
