Nice car Jbp. I have a 79 DP935 that I am restoring also. I just wish I had the time to get more work done on it.

Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks!
I was checking out this section re: 930s and came across this pic. I thought it looked familiar. I actually bought that 930, with that cover, with a bra and with old sheep skins (truly a 80s Hot Tub Time Machine).

The records show that cover was purchased in 2007 from Shrin Corporation dba Coverking (Item Number CVC3SS94).

Good luck!

The jacking point at the rocker panel will have an extension of the existing tube with an additional tube welded in at 45 degrees to the frame
Above is from an old post. Just wanted to follow-up regarding rockers as I stated that I have seen some factory cars without the jack-point extensions, and/or the factory rocker without the jack point opening.

I have seen some that have been welded close,
- others that appear to be produced with the opening in place but not opened,
- and of course after-market that is smooth on both side with no provision for the jack point.

Pictured is the backside of factory unit that was not punch opened.. so it is smooth on the finished side.

Hi, i know that my car is an original Flachbau 930 Turbo, built 58 times without leaf headlights. Car was delivered 12/82. I called the Porsche Classic department and also the Porsche AG. They told me that there are no more informations about my car because the former Flachbau were transformed in the reparation department and they only keep this Zusatzauftrag documents for max 15 years. I heared about a list where all Flachbau are registrated by Vin.... Is that true should i call the museum again? I have a confirmation of the delivery Porsche Center that my car was delivered as an original Flachbau... Also the first owner confirmed me this but i can`t believe that Porsche has no more informations.... Thanks in advance

I'm afraid the story is true. I know of two gentlemen of the Porsche Club - Great Britain that went to Zuffenhausen to go through their records and log the VIN's of the Special Wishes vehicles. They went home empty handed. From my understanding from the gentlemen, the Porsche record keeping was pretty poor back then when it came to the Sonderwunsch program.
Are you and your car located in Europe?

Hi, thanks for your answer.... I m from germany, i talked with Mr Sven Klapputh today, customer consultant of the Porsche Classic Workshop (Unser Team - Classic Werkstatt & Leistungen - Porsche Classic - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG) he told me that the flatnose was like a normal repair order in that time......They only took the cars from the "normal" factory in the repair apartment "Werk I" and the documents of these orders are only kept max 15 years in the archieves.....

I have an 86 Slantnose that was converted in Germany a few months after it was purchased and then it came to the US.

I also have a 77 Euro Carrera 3 tub.

I think the 77 Carrera 3 has a DP 935 body kit. The rear fenders are vented front and rear and I have the crazy rear bumper with the tail light mounts.

If anyone wants / needs the rear bumper, I do have ths one as well as the rear fenders and I would be willing to part with them.

Is anyone aware if DP converted any non turbo cars? Could this have been done by a shady tree mechanic?

Both DP and Kremer converted non-Turbo cars.. they also sold parts/pieces through their distributors and outright.

Regarding Kremer, DP made the bodies for them to their specs.. so they are very similar and identical in some cases.

Can you send me a few photos and more info/price on the DP rear bumper?

DP would do conversions on any 911, as well as 944's and 928's. The majority of the US cars were turbos.

Any room for replicas in here?

Just picked this beauty up last week, its a 1980 turbo with 73k miles. The guy i bought it from has been looking after this car for me for the past 30 years!
In 1987 he had the flatnose put on it by, at the time, prominent UK race team Dage sport.

Here she is

Here is mine... 1979, 50,000 miles, I'm the third owner (just received it last Friday). It was a California car all its life until now. Truly a lovely car.

I'd love to get some bigger rubber under there!

1985 Ruf Stage 4 930 Slope Nose

One owner car with always garaged never raced or wrecked with 45,500 miles on the odometer. Modified by Clay Doppke at Bavarian Coach Works in West Carrollton, Ohio in 1987 to a Stage 4 Ruf slope nose K-134 turbo, electromotive CIS, twin plugged and an adjustable boost car creating 450RW h.p. Painted Guards Red with black leather interior and BBS 3 piece rims.

Lots and lots of performance upgrades such as oversized Brembos with ceramic composite pads. A wicked fast car that is being prepared for sale. The car's 4 speed transmission was a bit noisy and the owner just recently spent $8,000 having it rebuilt by CMS and has less than 100 miles on the rebuild.

If interested email me at hcarraro@hughes.net or PM so I can notify you when and where the car is posted for sale.

Thanks in advance for your interest.

Henry
