The most common reply from USA manufacturers that I hear is “supply chain issues”
You would probably be fine if you wanted Small Block Chevy Main Studs. A friend of mine ordered ARP wheel studs for the rear axle of his ‘68 Dodge Charger in August last year and they just showed up this week. |

Yes, 100% made in America. Honestly, I'm just glad they are still making these parts for such a small, niche market.

Well, it may be true for trough bolts (even if I doubt you'll get them in time), but for the case bolt kit it's allover the shops and even ARP themself the fact that they move the date almost daily a couple of days forward and this happen since over half a year. If you can send me the item within 4 weeks I'll pay you another 100USD on top, but if you can't you give me a discount of 100USD ![]()

Play at the cups is normal, I lapped the end of each cup flat on my surface plate to remove any marks from previous wear.

Today I started with workin on the piston pins, machined conical by 14° axial on the lathe to save some weight on the oscillating mass. Made this on the old pins as well without any issue. The weakest area is the piston there, not the pin.
BTW What size of pics do you choose to upload here? With about 4Mb it's incredible slow...

So nice to have access to a lathe.
If I remember I crop pictures down to a couple meg. I am usually uploading from my phone and it's very slow. Almost as annoying as having few people respond to my posts. David |

I've heard of them but not in a good way, however nothing concrete. Just odd stuff like that and high prices. I'd steer clear.

Still waiting for ARP able to deliver... but in between I can do other things like:
I bought a 964 IC to replace my Blownsix IC (too big for my needs) and the intake air temp sensor from my SDS EFI does not fit. Id did not on the Blownsix where I fitted a threaded insert, but here I wanted to leave the IC as it is. So I made a sensor housing to "transplant" the sensor.

Some additional info about the sensor above. Cylinder part is 0.1mm thicker than bore in the flange. Mounted with heath shrinking (Cold cylinder, hot flange). Anodized after. Sensor is also press fitted, but to be save as it's something like PA6GF I filled the groove with uv-activated glue. First time I used it, very cool stuff.
Another thing I am working is the fan housing cone (or what it's called). I guess it's not unusual that it have cracks or break completely. Cut away generous Filled gap with fiber reinforced epoxy and drilled the hole circle

You are doing really nice work! Your engine will be amazing when done.
I like the anodized pieces you did. I have done a lot of zinc plating but not tried anodizing yet. John
